And of course the highest rated comment is the "sobbing regretful woman who had an abortion and now thinks about the child she killed everyday." She commented more than once on the video:
"So because raising another human being cost more than 265.00 you want to kill it? I tell you what Josh Pilot...actually babies eat less than adults...so maybe we should kill the adults and let the babies live...after all babies eat less, and are cheaper....may be we should just wait til they are older to kill them.... you know when they start costing more. Think about your statement. It shows the hardness of your heart.
An abortion is really nothing more than big people killing little people."
Because the cost of children only comes from feeding them, amirite?

I have to agree. If she regrets her abortion, that's a valid feeling.

True, but a lot of the "woman who had an abortion and now regrets it" people you see in anti-abortion propaganda either:
- Aren't women, - Didn't have an abortion, or - Are only pretending to be emotionally traumatized when they're in front of the cameras, for the positive attention from The Baby Movement.
Obviously some women who get abortions do regret their choice--and that's understandable. It's not the easiest choice in the world to make. But there's a disturbing number of people who fake it, especially on the Internet, and that's just disgusting. It makes a mockery of the emotional suffering of the women who actually have had the crying-baby nightmares after an abortion.
Possibly the worst part of the whole mess is that the phonies are so common, that the default assumption by a lot of people tends to be that every "I regret my abortion" comment is made by an impostor.

I can't help but wonder if the degree of regret expressed by those who aren't "fakers" is genuine and not coerced by a society that shames women for taking control of their reproduction. I have a hard time figuring out how someone can go into sobbing, life-consuming hysterics after a medical procedure without being badgered into it by an outside environment. I also can't help but think that if society were more accommodating overall, that we would probably see less over-the-top-inappropriate grief as they would have an environment to express their regret without it being whipped into a fervor to push someone else's agenda.

Even if the woman is genuine, my sympathy is severely tested by her "you just want to kill babies for money" bullcrap. Regretting an abortion is a valid feeling; guilting people & promoting Comfort's lies is not. I, for one, highly doubt that she's stopping to wonder if any of these commenters have had abortions & if that makes her callous.

While I don't dismiss the idea about women who regret their abortions, I can't feel as sympathetic for those who involve God/Jesus into their apology. Because it feels more like they're sorry for "disobeying" rather then killing their zygotic. That is to say, your more regretful for disobeying an order/rule, rather then regretting your actions, or whom they involves. It also feels like it's a guilt-trip brought by from Good Christians™ in order to make you more of a Christian. Like telling a child the horrors of Hell. Again, I believe not all women who had abortions are like this, but remember that the "pro-life" people also say that the death penalty and wars are part of "respecting" human life, and don't see the irony. Indecently, while I don't doubt the pro-life people are in good intention for saving an unborn baby, I can't help but feel there's a nefarious motivation going on...

People regret decisions all the time, it doesn't follow that the decision was evil.

You know, I have to get up on my soapbox here: The death penalty is about as comparable to abortion as infanticide is. Regardless of whether or not you agree with it, I'm sure you see the difference between a criminal & a baby, which is what the pro-life movement thinks a zygote is. Just because they don't recognize obvious distinctions, it doesn't mean we have to.

The people who were asked the question in that video could have been anti-abortionists promoting an anti-abortion video. Reverse psychology is old hat.

Possibly the worst part of the whole mess is that the phonies are so common, that the default assumption by a lot of people tends to be that every "I regret my abortion" comment is made by an impostor. Abortion is severely stigmatized in society. It's at taboo subject. If a woman has an abortion and says she thinks it was a good decision, pro-lifers will treat her like the lowest scum of the earth. But if she acts remorseful or regretful and acts like her bad experience speaks for everyone, then pro-lifers are suddenly very supportive and comforting. Another crazy anti-abortion movie: "The Life Zone". A bunch of women go to an abortion clinic, only to fall unconscious during a pro-life terrorist attack. They wake up in a room called "The Life Zone", where a doctor explains that they will be forced to stay in a small dark room together and give birth at the same time. Some of the women try to escape their forced pregnancy by inciting miscarriage, but then it turns out that the doctor is actually Satan, and they are in Hell for wanting to murder their children (apparently they died in the abortion clinic attack). The women who did not want to have children will have to give birth over and over for all eternity. I'm not making this up. I might have got a few details wrong, but that's basically the plot of the movie.
