Dreamweaver doesn't run on my new(-ish) laptop, so I want to learn HTML and CSS so I can update my website without it. Does anyone know of any good online tutorials?

www.htmlgoodies.com -- Been a while since I browsed the site, but as I recall, it's got some great tutorials and resources for HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. CSS isn't too complicated. I picked it up pretty quickly just by checking source codes and experimenting with it, with occasional help from an online resource. I'm sure you'll ace it in no time.

I'm doing some tests/exercises, and there's something I can't get to work. I have this in my CSS file:
But it's not doing anything. I know I've got the CSS file linked correctly, because all my other style commands are working. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Been experimenting. When I include my CSS code in the html file itself, all my styling commands work. But when I have a separate CSS document, everything works EXCEPT the style commands under "body."
Does anyone have any ideas as to why that would be?

Might need to make it a div. In the html do <div body> or something. Might be wrong, though.

It's possible that your <body> isn't visible in the rendered HTML page, if the rest of the document is comprised of elements that fill the body. Try giving the body element a margin in its CSS, to see what shows up.

I think you've made a small typo in your external stylesheet. I don't understand any other way that all of your style definitions could be working correctly except for just one.
