I think "general" but I think we could create a new forum topic for recent tevents in general.
I think the doctors should be held accountable. Maybe not for murder, but they screwed up bigtime.

I don't like this kinds of stories, they make me sad Same for the woman who miscarried after being punched in a gut by a policeman Losing a fetus when you don't want to is horrific.

I consider fetuses that far along to be babies, and human beings. So tragic.

The comments are all full of 'this is why abortion should be illegal'.
The story itself makes me sadface.

I think the doctors should be held accountable. Maybe not for murder, but they screwed up bigtime. Not for murder, but it sounds like a pretty normal case of medical malpractice. Unfortunately things like this happen and far too often in surgery rather large and complicated mistakes happen. They are sad all round.

Damn, why didn't I listen to you about not reading the coments...now I want each and every one of them carry a vegetable fetus to full term. The problem is, the story doesn't mention a "vegetable fetus", all it says is that the fetus had "heart problems", which is incredibly unhelpful. I mean, was its heart incapable of surviving outside the womb? Was it heart murmurs? What? Not that the "pro life" crowd would give a damn either way. Most of them insist that once a pregnancy is begun, it must finish in birth or a natural abortion, birth problems be damned. One pro-life couple proudly declared that they went ahead and gave birth to a baby that was essentially brainless and held her until she died, so they wouldn't give a shit about your proposed scenario.

Well I'm assuming that if the doctor recommend an abortion, than it must've been a pretty serious heart condition, and probably won't survive that long outside the womb. I used the term 'vegetable' because I've read many stories, that fetus in question has no brain, or something of the same nature, won't survive long outside the womb, so a abortion is recommended.

When I was in the womb I had 'heart problems'. So bad that I had to have surgery a bit after I was born. So... part of me feels like it wasn't right to even want to abort because of heart issues unless it was Situs Inversus with levocardia or something worse. Then maybe. But that is neither here nor there.

They think doctors are full of shit anyway. Because someone at some point allegedly survived with some serious defect. Or because they think every defect is some mundane thing like high blood pressure or webbed toes.

Or because they think every defect is some mundane thing like high blood pressure or webbed toes. Yeah, it's never anything like...oh, not having any skin between the rib-cage and pelvis, or nothing formed above/behind the ears, or being a harlequin baby. No, it's gotta be something inconvenient or embarrassing to the parents. We should all be willing to risk carrying/expelling a corpse/vegetable baby or letting our newborns die in agony hours after being born, just to avoid the dreaded act of abortion.
