Bullshit. The simlord or "watcher" if you prefer, changes her mind and retasks you, obviously.

Also why I've been told to suck a mint while studying, then pop one in before a test. I used to do something similar with citrus flavoured gum. The sharp taste seemed to be pretty effective.

That works, until you get a teacher who is anti-gum.

That works, until you get a teacher who is anti-gum. "Did you bring enough gum for the whole class?" "*takes huge wad of gum out of mouth* Yeah, but do you think they'd want it?"

Still, you'd think I'd forget once I left the bathroom.

Ah. Mine had some rules about food and drink, but they never had a problem with gum (provided you didn't chew/pop it loudly).

Almost all of the rooms at PSU have signs that say no food or drink, but no one seems to pay them any attention.
By complete contrast, the computer testing center is a pain in the ass about it. You can't have ANY drink that isn't a bottle of water, & apparently flavored water doesn't count.

My plant physiology professor regularly brings in food. Often related to the thing we're studying. We're looking at protists, we're gonna eat some algae. Gymnosperms? Have some pine nuts. Stems and leaves? Kohlrabi!

Y'all's colleges are asshats. Only places we aren't allowed to eat or drink are any rooms with computers, and only if said room is a lab- the study carrells with computers in them are fine.
Presumably because the computer's mounted on a wall above your head in those, but who knows.

if you allow water, you may as well allow the rest.

The big thing they were always nervous about was ants, which is why the professors at my community college always limited you to water. My university doesn't give a crap, apparently.
