As we're only getting half this story, I have to wonder if this was just the last straw before he was let go.
Ironbite-wonder what other fundie antics he was up to before this.

So 666 of anything is totally evil, now?

I thought the mark of the beast was supposed to be placed on the forehead?

This is how I see it. The man chose this hill to die on. And so he died on it, metaphorically speaking. I doubt this was the only factor, but businesses have been known to fire someone for far less The funny thing is, this is one of those situations where both sides of the argument can be wrong XD

So 666 of anything is totally evil, now? When I worked retail I had a woman's purchase come up to exactly $6.66. She literally turned white, moaned, and ran from the store like her ass was on fire. The manager had to chase her into the parking lot to give her her purse.

I think the last time I had a $6.66 purchase was at Goodwill. Led Zeppelin IV, Eric Clapton Unplugged, and a Cow Tale candy, plus sales tax. Make of that whatever you want. I was amused.

I'll admit that I get queasy when I see the number 666, even though I just try to rationalize it away as being a number and nothing more. Still, I do get uncomfortable.
My mom, however, is extremely superstitious about and does what some of those people on "Not Always Right" does. She usually will grab a candy bar or something in the impulse aisle in order to bring the total up.
And yeah, the actual number is 616, which so happens to be my area code sooo... does that mean that lower West Michigan is actually hell?

My mum's cellphone number is something like 6XX-66X-666X (non-sixes withheld for privacy). I like to rib her on it.

So was I when it happened. At Chic Filet (which I believe is a Christian restaurant), that was my total. I joked that it was my lucky number, and the clerk turned white and her eyes went wide.

Chik Fil-A is Christian and very open about it. (anti-gay, anti-choice, etc.,)
As for the story itself... definitely more to this story.
EDIT- just realized this happened in Georgia and now I feel weird that I didn't hear about it before. Some people are REALLY woo-woo here.

Chik Fil-A is Christian and very open about it. (anti-gay, anti-choice, etc.,) Never heard about Chick-Fil-A being particularly Christian. But then, the only reason I know about it is because there was one at my college food court. Well, that and Senor Cardgage’s comment in Homestar Runner. But, yeah, never seen a Chick-Fil-A anywhere else.

If it is, that would be really odd, since Penn State has one & a lot of students are big on the whole gay pride thing.

But then, the only reason I know about it is because there was one at my college food court. Well, that and Senor Cardgage’s comment in Homestar Runner. But, yeah, never seen a Chick-Fil-A anywhere else. he company's official statement of corporate purpose says that the business exists "To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A."
...
Chick-fil-A's connection to Christianity has been brought before the courts when Aziz Latif, a Houston-based Muslim employee for six years, sued the company in 2002 for firing him, alleging that he was fired for his religious beliefs when he had refused to take part in an employee prayer.[25] The suit was settled on undisclosed terms.[26]
...
In 2011, various news outlets[27][28] reported that Chick-fil-A was co-sponsoring a marriage conference[27] along with the Pennsylvania Family Institute,[29] a 501(c)3 organization that seeks to "strengthen families by restoring to public life the traditional, foundational principles and values essential for the well-being of society".[30] PFI filed an amicus brief against the trial ruling striking down Proposition 8 in California,[31] and also lobbied against a state effort to ban discrimination in Pennsylvania on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.[32] This apparent affiliation coupled with donations from the company's Winshape Foundation to anti gay-marriage organizations such as the National Organization for Marriage as well as foundation statements that same-sex couples were not welcome at the foundation's marriage institute caused several colleges and universities to form grassroots efforts to ban or remove Chick-fil-A from their campuses.[33] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chik-Fil-A#Religious_and_political_viewsThey're a little bit religious, but only slightly.

Random tidbit: My great aunt worked at Chik-Fil-A for several decades, only retiring when her knees and shoulders forced her to. My dad once asked her what happens if they end up hiring a non-Christian; she all but admitted that they harangue the person into either "converting" or quitting.
My campus is fairly gay friendly (we're not called [state system]-Gay for no reason) and we have a Chik-Fil-A. It's operated in an open area along with several other restaurants, though, so.
