And nothing of value was lost.

So he WAS still dependent on his parents. Can't say anything about that because I am too (still live under their roof and all--though I pay my own gas, car payments, internet, and basically anything else that's not food), but when you don't pay ANYTHING yourself then... yeah, you pretty much don't get to say or do whatever you like.
The thing is, though, is that if VFX just kept it all to spewing bullshittery on YouTube, he'd probably still be doing it. But because he went out and scammed people, his parents got into trouble and pulled the plug on his ass. Sing it with me, kids---SCHAAAAADENFREUDE! MAKIN' ME FEEL GLAD THAT I'M NOT YOUUUU!

When mommy and daddy pay the bills and you use what they pay for to scam other people... I'd say they have the power. I guess you're right. Still, having your parents pull the internet from you in your 20s? Hilarious. Cait: I don't think I can live with my parents anymore. Oh well. You do what you have to do I guess.

Good riddance! I won't miss VFX, he's an obnoxious little shit, delighting in his own ignorance. However, I will miss Thunderf00t ripping his arguments to small fractions of little pieces. VFX made an excellent toy.
Oh yeah, his parents shut him down! I am not above schadenfreude - not at all.

I watched him only a few times. Dumber than a tree stump.

Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Fred Phelps, and Bush. We win. ...Sadly. Yeah, well we have 1/10th the population, so 1/10th the fundies. As for him being a dependent, I don't know what it's like in the US, but in Canada you can claim a dependent up to 25 if he's in school full time, also if there's a physical/mental handicap you can declare them for the rest of your/their life. Somebody mentioned that he's done this before and it might just be bullshit of him reinventing himself. I don't know, I really don't pay enough attention to him.

Someone needs to create a sarcastic VFX montage set to Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" (or something like that).

"So Long, Farewell, Auf Weidersein, Adeiu..."
Somehow, I get the notion musical theatre would hack the wee wanker off about proper.

Can someone bring up to speed on this guy? I know he's an ubercreationist and that he got into some spat with another Youtuber that ultimately ended with him having to make a formal apology on video, but what else was he doing that made people hate him so?

He did come off as an arrogant prick and called atheism a "form of mental retardation."
