The cake is a lie.

While you're right, they'd actually be like that before my evil gay not-so-Christian boss got there.
Although my company has had several gay and lesbian managers so I guess you'd be right anyway.

I asked my boss about this a while ago- would she deny service to a gay couple if they asked her for a wedding cake?
She looked at me as though I'd just told her I was from space and said, "Why the hell would I do that?! That's like $500 AT LEAST that I'd miss out on!"
From a business standpoint, this is dumb as fuck- wedding cakes are expensive, and if you're running a bakery, they're a very good source of income. Secondly, if two women show up for a cake tasting, it doesn't necessarily mean they're gay. Obviously this couple actually was gay, but the last tasting we had at work, three women showed up- the bride, her sister, and her best friend. According to this woman's logic, it would have been HOLY SHIT LESBIAN POLYGAMISTS!

This makes me want to open a business that sells all manner of wedding-related stuff like cakes, dresses/tuxes, invitations, etc. just to pick up the business that these Bible-banging dillweeds refuse. I'd make a pretty good living. Maybe I could call it Bigotry-Free Bridal. I have a better idea. Open a store that only provides services to homosexual or trans-species couples. Refuse to sell to heterosexuals on the grounds that every mass murderer, serial killer, and rapist in human history was born as the result of a heterosexual union, which is a clear indication of how immoral human heterosexuality is.

I have to wonder about a couple things, though. I'm not defending anyone, but Lithp said something about 'making your disapproval of someone's "lifestyle" a public show.' But it seems more likely that the lesbian couple contacted the news rather than the cake shop owner. So if the shop owner was telling the truth about being more or less polite about being a bigot, then it's the couple who made it a public show. Also I wonder if the cake shop owner WAS telling the truth about being 'polite' and that the couple said they were appreciative of her being honest. Because if someone says 'thank you for your honesty' or 'I respect your beliefs and your choice' to your face, and then goes to the news to complain about the same treatment behind your back, that's not making you look good either. :/
(But then I've had people do that sort of thing to me before, so I could just be projecting.)

I have never got this meme, what does it mean? Also with the rise of gay marriages coming in the States, yeah it's slow but it will be inevitable that gays and lesbians will one day be allowed to marry across the nation, I would think that it would be good for business if you provided services for them. There will be a huge market out there for gay and lesbian marriage so I would jump on it now and hopefully make a decent living.

I heard that in my cousin's neighborhood in New York, photographing gay Orthodox Jewish weddings is a very lucrative market. My cousin's one of those photographers. He's been to a couple.
