Isn't leather made from cowhide and wool made from sheep's hair? While the meme is funny it shouldn't make any sense...unless there is something about leather and wool I'm missing.

Does anyone actually know the rationale for the prohibition on wearing clothes of mixed fabric? It seems like a completely arbitrary rule, even more so than the dietary laws. Seriously, what were they thinking? There's probably some cultural factor here that's been lost to time. As I've heard it explained, it was more symbolic than anything else that they shouldn't be mixing different things together that don't really belong together, just as Israel was not to mix with any other peoples. It was a way to set them apart from all the other nations in the area. Same with the dietary prohibitions. It was just a way to set them apart from everyone else. Now whether this is bullshit or not, I don't know. Makes more sense as anything else.

Oh wow, according to Think Progress, the music featured in Mr. Perry's ad was inspired (though, not necessarily created) by Aaron Copland, a gay composer. thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2011/12/12/386532/rick-perry-gay-ad-aaron-copland/Does anyone actually know the rationale for the prohibition on wearing clothes of mixed fabric? Rational, in the Bible? Oh you silly billy, if the Bible made sense, FSTDT might not have existed. I wonder if these NeoCon nuts use Progressive's stuff on purpose, y'know, to annoy us? I'd love to see a Progressive's use the rousing score of that Nazi propoganda bonanza of doom, Triumph Of The Will or some thrashing instrumental from a "Hate-Rock" band to some pro-diversity message....tweak those wacky Nazis, y'know? How about Feminists swiping The Rolling Stone's Under My Thumb, Eminem's Kim or even The Beatles' Run For Your Life or Elvis' Hard-Headed Woman....perhaps the patronizing country-fried schmaltz of George Jones' Dreams of an Everyday Housewife?Really, they're either stupendously stupid or deviously deliberate.

Now whether this is bullshit or not, I don't know. Makes more sense as anything else. Well, I heard the the whole food rule thing was because many of the prohibted foodstuffs were from meats known for having toxicity/high uric acid potential & that certain combos of food don't digest well ('food combining'). Shellfish & catfish/eels eat mostly sludgy stuff, pigs are often rife with parasites (hence the horrors of undercooked pork)....that sort of thing. That said, most of those rules are still riduculous. The 10 Commandments are the only "Laws of God" that make any sense for the most part. Don't Lie! Don't Steel! Don't Murder! Don't Crave Other Folks Stuff! Love Your Parents! Don't Cheat On Your Spouse You Dirty Dirty Dawg, You! The top three concerning Godde may be questionable if your not of a spiritual bent but most of it isn't totally nuts. Anyway, the Demiurgic perversion of Elohim/Yahweh is a psychotic barfbag who needs his butt kicked. What a psycho.

The number of explanations regarding these rules are probably on about the same scale as the number of denominations, sects, and cults within the Christian faith.

I heard one of them used Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" and Springsteen got pissed and said something like, don't be using my song for your hate-mongering! I can't remember which one it was now though; might have even been Perry.

I was sure they were talking about one of the current candidates. I could be wrong though; I heard it on the radio one day last week or so.

Tangentially related: I find it hilarious when people use Neil Young's "Rocking in the Free World" in conservative, patriotic stuff.

Oh looky here, Bryan Fischer, on his radio show, takes note of how many dislikes Perry's video has...and it all goes downhill from there. So… He believes using the dislike button on YouTube is an assault on Freedom of Speech?

I saw that on Tumblr! I love that guy. Damn you! Now that I watched that, I have to look at the rest of this guy's video's! I don't think I've laughed that hard at a video in a while... There go my facebooking plans tonight...
