If the shooter was the second fatality, why were the cops like "be on the lookout for a white male in a burgundy hoodie...." if he's RIGHT THERE, lying dead?

More info: news.yahoo.com/va-tech-gunman-police-killing-wasnt-student-144428078.htmlThe Virginia Tech police officer who was shot dead in his parked cruiser was a trained firearms and defense instructor with a specialty in crisis intervention. His death leaves investigators puzzling over how and why a gunman walked up to the patrol car during a traffic stop, killed the officer and wound up dead himself in a nearby parking lot. The campus shooting prompted officials to lock down the university for hours Thursday while police and SWAT teams searched the school, the scene in 2007 of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Authorities have in-car video from officer Deriek W. Crouse's cruiser that shows a male suspect with a handgun at the officer's car at the time of the shooting. But they have not identified the gunman and say they don't know what motivated the killing or whether there was any link between the shooter and Crouse. The shooter was not a student, university spokesman Larry Hincker said Friday. He declined to identify the suspect any more closely and said the information would come from state police, who scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m.

A gawd-awful tragedy all around. I guess the only good thing was that it wasn't another "Seung-Hui Cho mess" like the last time. Basically an incident not related to the college & involving a nut & a cop. Still sad, though.

If the shooter was the second fatality, why were the cops like "be on the lookout for a white male in a burgundy hoodie...." if he's RIGHT THERE, lying dead? Because he changed his clothes after shooting the officer. More here.He had no known connection to the officer he shot. There seems to be nothing in his background that would have precluded him from getting a gun. I am a Virginia Tech grad. (Class of '99). I had friends who lived in the dorms and had classes in the building next to where the 2007 shootings happened. I parked my car in the parking lot where this shooter killed himself. A part of me dies every time something like this happens. Blacksburg is a sleepy little college town. (It exists because of VT.) That's one of the reasons I went there. The university is large, but it doesn't feel like it.

You can never prevent this all the time! It's not fair! Messed up people should give off warning signs! It's like a perfectly normal young man was possessed by aliens who made him shoot a cop for no reason whatsoever! It's WEIRD!!! Well, he's a guy, a former jock, he's in The South, probably fell for the "Real Men Don't Bear Their Feelings" bullcrap! Because of that Kyriarchal BS, a depressed, uneasy kid had to "Suck it up like a MAAAAANNN *GRRRR*" & he just "snapped". I wonder if the murder was political? Maybe some sort of anti-cop/anti-government sort of thing?

Cue someone blaming video games in 5... 4... 3... 2... Damn, you beat me to it. But, I can still say: inb4 "this is the product of an evolutionist society" and inb4 "heavy metal made him do it" and inb4 "guns should be banned"

Got more info: www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/10/ross-truett-ashley-friendly_n_1141210.htmlSo, THERE WERE SIGNS he was troubled! Y'know, here's a guy with family issues, knew the Bible word-for-word, was living alone in a dark apartment who seldom talked to people and, according to another Huffington story, shaved his head. I can kinda see where this is going: Possible skinhead wannabee from a very strict, abusive Bible-thumper family with a worldview akin to Timothy McVeigh. He probably killed the cop because a cop works for "ZOG" or something stupid like that.
