We've all been there. That team argument where your teammate suddenly pulls out a statement that's, quite frankly, bigoted, even if it isn't aimed at the usual sensitive targets. And you find yourself now caught in a triangular argument because you feel like you can't let that go unchallenged.
And if you haven't been there, well, you're either smart or haven't been on the internet long enough.
So then, what would you consider the Darndest things said by issues you personally agree with?
Once, I was arguing with a homophobe on a pro-gay marriage video because it's horrible addictive and catching and I can't escape help me for fun and the person I was arguing alongside began to talk about heterosexuals and Christians in much the same manner that homophobes would talk about "fags".
I don't have any specific examples because, well, Youtube, and I'd be better off catching a specific drop of water that fell from a waterfall a year ago than trying to find those comments again.
Another is when people go "Ewww, heterosexual sex is gross" non-ironically but then go all raging rage when someone thinks gay sex is gross. I don't like double standards even when they're advantageous towards me.

Every single idiot who insists that because some people do bad things for religious reasons, we should just ban all religion in order to stop it.
Because forcing people to abandon religion is soooo much more ethical than conversion by the sword... 9_9

I have a friend who finds heterosexuals to be gross. But he isn't militant about it.

I'm actually not an atheist and just hold the position that I can't know the unknown (scary position, but it at least it takes away that doubt of "what if I'm wrong"). I get ticked when atheists think agnostics such as myself are too weak willed or some bullshit. I understand that a lot of people are sick of fundie Christians thinking they know everything, but you can hold a belief in god without being a nutcase who forces their beliefs down your throat. It's not the belief in god that's a problem, it's the sick things people do in the name of god.

I'm an agnostic atheist, rage, and I've noticed a lot of the same things...
Feminists, female and MALE, who label all men into either "feminist" or "evil nasty gross chauvinist pig" and don't consider any form of male-targeted bigotry to be worthy of discussion.

I've gotten into a few fights with some friends involving politics. They were honestly trying to argue that literally anyone bar nobody that says their a Republican has to agree with the farthest right arguments possible and that it is impossible to only agree with a few things. They also seemed unable to process the idea that some people might classify themselves as Republican in the sense of Lincoln-Era Republican.

I mean, the “Republican = Lincoln” thing. Haven’t they notices that what it means to be Republican has changed a bit over the last century and a half?

Wow! I thought TVtropes was exaggerating and trying to play middle ground when they said some of the comments on the main page were scary. A classic case of GIFT.

They do have a point, but posts that bad are an exception. There are usually only one or two ironically mainpage worthy comments on every post. If most of them were that bad, I wouldn’t even bother reading the comments or posting them anymore.

This reminds me of those anti-rape campaigns and pledges that just seem to be going about with the assumption that every male is just a latent rapist. I hate those. Those make me very angry.

My sister doesn't like gays (she just thinks it's 'icky') but has no problem with lesbians. Now, understand that she's not AGAINST them, she just doesn't like thinking about what they do with one another.
My father, who is a devout Catholic, actually has no problems with any homosexuals. He is of the belief that as long as you go through life without hurting others, then you should be in God's good graces when your time comes. He's unsure about them actually going through a marriage ceremony, but has absolutly no issus with them having civil unions that would afford them the same rights as heterosexual married couples.

Yeah unfortunately some feminists see all men as pigs. I remember katies opinion posted a controversial vlog several years ago about how to check if your BF or husband is cheating. She advocated things like hacking their password and violating their privacy. I think at one point, she said that women should set up a fake dating profile to "test" their men's loyalty. That's the same kind of things that any feminist or any rational human would frown upon if the roles were reversed. I'd imagine people didn't take too kindly to her youtube video that day (most of the responses were justifyably negative).
Another example I remember was when that "homo kid" posted his imfamous youtube video about how he thought gay marriage was wrong. Obviously he's wrong, but he was like 11 years old and probably didn't know any better. He was just a kid and was being harassed and bullied simply for posting the same shit his parents probably spoon fed him. That was an instance when I was sympathetic to the fundie.

I've seen conservative Democrats before.
