Skeptics and atheists who think they're the best thing since potato chips, just because they're educated and smart enough to know bullshit when they see it.
Also, atheists who think that all religious people are inherently evil, fundamentalist bastards incapable of having a normal functioning intellect. If you were born and raised in the exact same situation as them, I'm pretty sure you'd be believing the exact same things they do. Stop acting like religion is a disease and that atheists are some kind of superior species.
Also, people who insist that the side who doesn't want to argue secretly knows they are wrong. I see this on all sides.

I was, and I don't. Upbringing isn't a particularly valid excuse.

Stop acting like religion is a disease and that atheists are some kind of superior species. You know, that could explain why there are some stupid atheists out there. They were raised with extreme fundyism that used black and white thinking to convince others that only their way was right. I remember hearing some stupid arguements from the atheist side on youtube that had the same faux logic that fundies were guilty of. A lot of those people admited to being ex Christian so maybe that's where their skewed thinking comes from.

There is such a thing as a fundie atheist. Just look at the comments for the quotes on the front page. Some of them get downright creepy.

I just don’t get people like this. I mean, the “Republican = Lincoln” thing. Haven’t they notices that what it means to be Republican has changed a bit over the last century and a half? Doesn't mean you can't have liberal Republicans. I've seen conservative Democrats before. I just don’t see the point of associating yourself with a party that clearly stands for something out of line with what you yourself stand for. Those make me very angry. So angry you're about to rape somebody, I bet. Rapey. Eh, I considered it. But then I ate a chocolate bar instead. Mmmm… Chocolate…

Does this count for this thread? Yeah, I think it counts. Then again, this person seems like an overly-hormonal teenager. (He clearly hasn't thought things through-- how would society reproduce?) What I don't understand is that the speaker is both gay and transgendered. I don't understand the difference between sex and gender, in the sense that I cannot figure out if the concept of gender would ever have existed without society developing gender roles. So I just accept that they exist because trying to reason it out makes my head hurt, but this person has muddied things again. Can someone help me understand this?

Gender identity is how somebody feels (with evidence of it being linked to the neurological body map) Gender roles are how society says each sex should act. Sex is the physical characteristics (often simplified to penis or vagina) Orientation is which sex/gender you wanna fuck. A gay transsexual wants to fuck somebody of the same gender. So this is somebody who wants to fuck dudes.

You know, "immature teenager" is the first thing that came to my mind when I read that, too.

So this is somebody who wants to fuck dudes. Thing is, if there had never been gender roles, would the idea of gender have ever originated? If, hypothetically, society had never gotten the idea that men MUST be aggressive and women MUST be passive, or that the two sexes had any non-reproductive roles, would people have ever thought that gender existed seperately from sex? What I'm trying to figure out is which came first, gender or gender roles? Transsexuals claim that they are men/women trapped in women's/men's bodies, respectively, but how would they even know that if there were no such things as gender roles? That's what I wanna know.
