Koch brothers coercing their employees? It sounds disturbingly similar to the stories I heard about voting fraud in the last weeks' voting in Russia. Coupled with the busing of the Occupy WallStreet, it doesn't paint a good picture of the US republic.

Anyone who votes for this guy is a fucking moron. Well, let's be honest. It's damn near impossible to unseat an incumbent President. He totally has the home court advantage. While he gets to sit in the Oval Office looking all Presidential and shit, his potential opponents have to go running around the country begging for votes and nipping at each other like crazed weasels on meth. Hell, even Jimmy Carter was polling dead even with Reagan 2 weeks before the election. Clinton only spanked Bush Sr. because Ross Perot fucked up the conservative vote the same way Nader did to Gore in 2000. (Seriously, Bill Clinton only got 43% of the vote in 1992.) Even with all the serious Bush hatred in 2004 he still handily handed Kerry his ass. And since political parties despise proven losers, you only get one shot at running for President. Gore ran, lost, and even though he was polling through the roof in 2007, the Democrats refused to seriously consider him. After all, he already lost once. Same goes for a whole host of other second-placers from Dukakis to Mondale. you get ONE chance to grab the proverbial brass ring. Fail and you are dumped faster than a Omega Mu the morning after an Alpha Beta kegger. Sarah Palin was NEVER going to be the Republican nominee because she was pre-loser status. The whole batshit insane Tea party thing was just an excuse. That's the primary reason she was sucking up to the TPers like Ann Coulter at a Nazi Party Reunion. She knew she could never get the Repub nomination, so she was hoping for a viable third party option. I guess she didn't get the memo that the Tea Party is just the Fringe Auxiliary of the Republicans. Seriously. No one tells Sarah Palin ANYTHING, do they? Any Republican with serious Presidential aspirations (Christ Christie, Jeb Bush, et al) are sitting the whole thing out until 2016 when the get to run against some as-yet-unknown Democratic sacrificial lamb. Which means the only people running now for the GOP are the desperate, the crazy, the forgettable, the bland, the stupid, the political orphans, and the clueless. In other words, Bachmann, Perry, Huntsman, Romney, Cain, Paul, and Santorum. No one told them that the only reason they are being encouraged to run is that they are expendable. It doesn't matter who gets the nom, if they crash and burn the GOP has lost no one of any significance. I'm frankly surprised they haven't just gone and nominated Glen Beck or Bill the Cat. On second thought, Bill the Cat is probably a Libertarian.

Has Sandman been reading Cracked? Because I just read that exact same analysis over there earlier today.

Is wrong that when sandman said "Bill the Cat" I thought of former Senator Bill Frist, the cat killer??

You never know....
LOL no, I didn't write the bit on Cracked. I do read Cracked.com, tho, but I hadn't read that article. (Which is odd, since I am a big David Wong fan. I have an autographed copy of "John Dies at the End.")
The whole "you-only-get-to-run-once" thing is not original to me or to Mr. Wong. It's an old, old truism in American politics. I believe Teddy Roosevelt even mentions it in his diaries.
I was gratified to see that my facts line up with Mr. Wong's facts, tho. Always nice when you get independent corroboration.

Dude, if Sandman wrote for Cracked, he'd owe me a new Cool-O-Meter. Submitted, yes. Had jokes or observations of mine used in other articles (with a nice thank you note from the site producers), yes. But so far no sole authorship.

I keep reading the thread title as "If Newt Were Pregnant". Like he's going to burst open, and a colony of tiny, insect Newt Gingriches (Gingroaches?) comes spewing out.

No....not unless he's elected. IF he gets elected....then we're "fucked". Stay positive, I'm sure Obama, with his intelligence, charisma & mad oration skills will be able to somehow get more vote. He may be a bit rusty in the polls but he's smart enough to pull through & most people think Newt's a joke, anyway.

Not necessarily, for some he is exactly who they want in the White House. Also, the Koch brothers have tried influencing the votes of their employees, so some might be coerced. What? I want their heads on spikes in front of the Capitol. In my personal opinion, voter coercion should be considered treason. Oh, but the Koch brothers have committed treason. This board had a thread on it once. They got off completely scot-free because they're so rich that the rules don't apply to them. Since they are traitors, not only do I want to see their heads on pikes, but I want said pikes paraded through Washington, D.C., with the procession filmed on live television, so that everyone knows what we do to traitors, especially those who commit electoral fraud.

The only question is, who should we get to swing the sword?

Again, that doesn't fit the bloody definition of treason. Words have meaning, especially when you're discussing the only crime that is actually listed in the US constitution.
