And then said to the waitress, "I'll have what he's having".

Ouch, talk about a bad move on Mitt's part.
Seriously, harrassing a veteran and intterupting someone's dinner? Yeah, that makes you look like a REAL gentleman mister Romney.

So... are we to understand this guy was gay, in the military BEFORE the DADT repeal?

So... are we to understand this guy was gay, in the military BEFORE the DADT repeal? Signs are pointing to "Yes".

Romney's faux pas has given me the best schadenfreude! Y'see, Mr. Flip-Flop, not all gay men look like Austin Scarlett or Rip Taylor.....some are actually down home, blue collar little older guys in flannel jackets with war vet ballcaps! ROMNEY'S VISION OF ALL GAY MEN: THE REALITY OF MOST GAY MEN:

He was in the military before DADT was a thing. But not before the ban on gays? Being gay isn't obvious. Gays have been having to hide their sexuality for millennia. Any gay man or woman worth their salt can play the "straight" role. And in fact, often do. Often without even trying. So, yes, he was in the military even with the ban on homosexuals serving.

He was in the military before DADT was a thing. But not before the ban on gays? Oh, gays were totally banned. Doesn't mean the higher ups are gonna find out (or decide to take action).

Yeah should have looked at his age. I think gays started being officially banned in the 1940s

When the Constitution was written, "marriage" in the USA was between a man and a woman, but the woman could be as young as 13 (as well as your first cousin if you felt so inclined). They also both had to be white, or if they were both black, they had to be able to legally prove they weren't slaves. So what I guess ol' Mitt is saying is that he is all for mixed-gender, same-race, non-slave, possibly same-family, possibly statutory-rapey marriage. Interesting. Don't forget that the husband could beat his wife, as long as the switch wasn't too big around.
