SOPA appears to be dead, or at least in a coma for now. Even if it were to pass, people could just switch over to firefox, which has a plugin to bypass the censorship.

Don't forget about PROTECT IP. Some have been saying that they've been trying to push SOPA in order to draw attention away from it.
So far SOPA has only been "postponed". I wouldn't be surprised if they made this move expecting the public to forget about it so they could slip it through unnoticed.
