As long as Obama is in power (and possibly much longer after that) this New Rule is always poignant.

You can be damn certain that if a DEMOCRAT failed to get enough signatures to qualify for the ballot, the Reps would be insisting "THE RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED!" Isn't it fun how these assholes really believe in the rule of law until the rule of law is inconvenient for them? All I gotta say is, dudes, if you can't get your shit together enough to make a simple filing deadline then there is no way in Hell you can handle the presidency. And if you can't GET 10K people in the state willing to sign your petition, then you shouldn't be on the primary there, either.

Obviously those Repulblican candidates were too busy with the more important business of saving the American people from the threat of the Gay Agenda to make sure that they had enought votes for their petitions.

Yes Newt, your failure to meet election guidelines is exactly like an act of war that killed 2000 Americans long before many of us were born. [/sarcasm] What a fuckin tool.

Just a minor technicality--I mean, no one told them UP FRONT and in PLAIN LANGUAGE that a 'valid signature' did not constitute the household pets and imaginary friends of their supporters.

I'm not saying they didn't make a major mistake. (They clearly did.) I only pointed out that, contrary to sandman's comment, they did get 10,000 people to sign their petitions. Just that not all those people should have signed.

If you can't be bothered to vet your own signature drive, you shouldn't be on the ballot for dog catcher, much less President.

I want to punch him now for dragging Pearl Harbor into this. Fuck off, Newt. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Fuck off, Newt. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. I've known that about him for years. What's that got to do with this Presidential race, though?
