chick.com/reading/tracts/1066/1066_01.aspA sign of the coming apocalypse: Jack Chick's made a comic which isn't all that bad. On a moral level it's not really objectionable - for once, the guy who went to hell deserved it. Even the story's decent, in a cheesy pulp fiction kind of way. Best bit: Chick portrays a believable reaction at last.

An actual scumbag getting comeuppance in a Chick Tract? I am honestly surprised.

It was actually kinda interesting until the guy started preaching to him.
Good guy or rotten guy, most people probably would've had the same reaction. Or at least checked "no".

So what was so important to the governor, the real scumbag in all this, that they had to go to these lengths?
Ironbite-that's what I'm interested in.

You know, if you take out the hellfire crap, you got a pretty good conspiracy/mafia thriller (or at least the start to one).

Eh. It might work as a mediocre story if you cut out the preachy part. If one does not count the "so bad it's good" dimension, that puts it miles above every other Chick tract.

Oh yeah, there's an actual plot to this one, beyond "Jesus saves the protagonist on the final page"

I liked this tract for the intrigue in its plot, but then I took a Jesus arrow to the knee

It would have been better if the governor died too.

The urban equivalent of "Rocks fall, everyone dies"?
