God... Rose... don't even get me started on that bitch.
When my friend had me start watching it she was like 'we're not watching stuff with Rose'. I was confused. Wtf was wrong with Rose? Then I got the pleasure of listening to 10 whine and mope about Rose. Rose, Rose, Rose. No one can compare to my Rose! waaaaaaaah! Rose!
Dear God was that annoying by itself! But then I went back... urgh... what a fucking ingrate...

But then I went back... urgh... what a fucking ingrate... The thing that frustrates me the most, though, is that she was fine in season 1 and had some, though not much, character development, not to mention that she wasn't as fucking insufferable at that point. Then RTD declared that she was the "perfect" companion and decided that she was his pet character and was perfect in every way. If RTD had taken the time during season 2 to further develop her instead of claiming that she was already the perfect companion, she could have been at least a decent character. Say what you will about River Song (personally, I can take or leave her), at least Moffat didn't write her into a total Mary Sue.

I much prefer Doctor Whooves' assistant anyways. Derpy or Twilight?? I've seen both as his assistant.

Yeaaaah...Rose irritated the hell outta me after a while. Personally, I quite liked Amy. One of the new companions that didn't so much fall for the Doctor as she just wanted to make out with 'im. At least she didn't manage to outshine the Doctor, unlike Rose "Canon Sue" Tyler. Hell, I even like Rory...he's more like what a regular person would be around the Doctor, starting off with a large dose of WTF, and moving into "this is pretty damn cool" territory, while still maintaining that little bit of WTFery goin on in 'ere.

I never cared much for Amy. I mean, one of the series catchphrases is "Come along, Pond." She just tags along and does what the Doctor tells her, but doesn't take much of a proactive role in anything. Rory's definitely the more interesting character. Too bad he's died so many times that if he actually dies for good at some point, I'm not going to care. Rose was, admittedly, a canon Sue, though she had enough non-Sue qualities that I tolerated her. Most notably in that she wasn't emotionally abusive to the Doctor, whereas true Sues tend to enjoy belittling their romantic targets to show off their control and said target just takes it. Her treatment of Mickey was unforgivable, though. Whatever Rose was, she still wasn't as Sue-tastic as Jenny, who thankfully only lasted one episode. I would like to see an episode down the line where 10.5 comes back, so we can see what human!Doctor is up to. And so Tennant can cameo. Given episodes like "School Reunion" and "Human Nature", I would expect he went on to become a school teacher, but it would be interesting to explore how he copes with suddenly only having one planet, one time period to experience for the rest of his life. And to see the interaction between him and real!Doctor to see how their lives have diverged and how they'd react to one another now.

I'm wondering if maybe sometime the Doctor can be his own companion? Two incarnations side-by-side...

I actually liked Rose even in Season 2. It's hard to turn me off of the audience surrogates.
