It's due to SOCIALISM!Once you recover from laughter you'll realize he really thinks that. Then you'll sober up even more when he thinks a lot of America thinks like him. And he'd be right. It's not a majority but unless we mobilize in force, the GOP will be able to roll back even the most minor of successes Obama has had. Ironbite-these people scare me.

I have a very big book about the breakup of the colonial empires in Africa I'd just love to throw at him now.

What a douche-nozzle. Says a lot for the American education system.
Hey "Sanatarium" -ever heard of these two major conflicts called WWI and WWII? They have a heck of a lot to do with why the colonial empires declined.

... Well, good on socialism, then. Colonialism wasn't exactly a good thing.

Says a lot about the guy that he thinks the Empire was a good thing. Interestingly, he throws around the term “world domination” like it is not solely associated with Saturday morning cartoon villains.
I’d start referring to him as The Brain, but it is clear he doesn’t have one.

When I first read this, I thought he meant the Galactic Empire.

You know, I am starting to get the impression that this Rick Santorum fellow is a bit of an idiot...or a liar...
The only thing remotely close to 'Socialism' practised by the British empire was protectionism. and I don't think that 'is' particular close to "Socialism"

When I first read this, I thought he meant the Galactic Empire. Does that mean that SWP doesn't stand for Socialist Workers Party, but instead for Stormtroopers Workers Party?

I suppose My statement might have been a bit odd......I meant to say that Socialism had nothing to do with the british empire, nor it's fall.

No, no, no, it was their weird food that caused the British to lose their empire.

You know, I first read "Empire" in the title as the Roman Empire. Now that would've been an even bigger WTF.
