And if the governor isn't the person who moved up the primary? Then they get shot too. So, if somebody moves up the primary and the governor doesn't approve of it, the governor gets shot anyway? I'm also not exactly big on how so many of your solutions seem to be to shoot somebody or subject people to some other violent torture.

The "governor gets shot" bit was tongue-in-cheek.

1) The democratic party- democrats must uphold a basic standard of ideological loyalty. The purpose of a political party is to further an ideological vision- if members do not share the vision, they may not receive the Democratic nomination to congress.
2) The media- a new media organisation would be created, funded out of tax revenue and run by an elected board independent of the government. It would be 'convergent', using all mediums (radio, TV, print and online). Part of it's charter would be to refute the nonsense invented by all other channels. It would also be obliged to include as many political views as possible, including communists, fascists and liberals- not just conservatives. Of course the other channels would be seeing their financing drying up because-
3) Advertising- campaigns are entirely financed through standard taxation. All propaganda (which shall be defined as 'a message created or paid for by a group or individual to serve their interests') is banned, including commercial or political advertising.

2. Rush Limbauh, Glen Beck, and Ann Coulter have their mouths sewn shut Why stop at sewning their mouths shut... That said, I'll go with 1. Political system reform. I really don't think the 2 party system we have is working, especially when there are few differences between the major parties. 2. Publicly financed elections 3. Universal Health care

For my own country:
End Tax Exempt Status for Religious Organisations. All religions, from churches to mosques to the those pagan groups will be legally classified as a demerit service. That means, of course, demerit tax rates (the same taxes alcohol and tobacco providers are subject to). Any religion that engages in charity work will be treated exactly the same as any other business that donates money. That is tax deductions for any money spent on charity. These tax deductions are forfeit if said charity is used as a vehicle for proselytising.
Partially Nationalise Tertiary Education. The government will, by means of compulsory purchase, re-acquire control of all formally government-run universities. While courses in areas such as drama and music will be run for profit and therefore paid for entirely by the student body and others such as theology will be dropped from the curriculum entirely, all other courses and programs will be 100% taxpayer funded.
Censorship will be Abolished. All government appointed classifications for movies, TV shows, video games and any other forms of media will be retained, though all levels of ratings will be reduced to recommendations only. Bans will be illegal under any and all circumstances. Any media in which existing (and remaining) laws are violated during its production will be released into the public domain immediately and the creators dealt with as normal by the criminal justice system.

Why are you making this distinction? You want the government to choose certain subjects that are worthy of being funded, while students who choose to major in areas the government doesn't approve of will have to pay their own way?

Making the students pay to take drama and art classes is a fast ticket to killing proper culture even more than it is.

More than 3, but...
1. End the inflatable fiat money system, derive a new currency whose value is whatever its intrinsic value is. For example, paper money with small traces of precious metals embedded in the paper, where the value printed on it is simply denoted by the amount of precious metal contained therein. If one so desired, they could extract the actual precious metal by incinerating the paper. Doing all this would completely eliminate artificial manipulation of currency value, as well as inflation.
2. End corporations being considered people, as suggested by the OP.
3. 100% completely open transparent government with respect to all information. If you pay for it, you have the right to know about it, end of story. Companies with government contracts must also be completely open and transparent.
4. Government cannot borrow, period.
5. Publicly financed elections, as stated by many others in this thread.

Maybe you could do your own list and bring up specific things you find objectionable (in other people's posts) instead of making bizarre blanket comments... or go start your own thread in RR.

1. No parents would lose their children over poverty related issues. Ripping children away from their parents inflicts unneeded trauma in most cases to both the parents and the children. 2. Tax imports to where corporations keep the jobs here so that people have more job opportunities. 3. Any government employee discovered to be lying in court/legal proceedings does mandatory prison time.
