Am I the only one not at all suprised (or were the "didn't see it coming" people being ironic?). I didn't even know he was in the closet - I always thought he was gay and assumed he was openly so. I didn't know he was gay, I didn't assume he was gay, but I'm hardly shocked. Though I suggest we pretend to kill him and slip a nurse into his tent just to be sure. I see I'm not only one who watched the movie.

I see I'm not only one who watched the movie. I don't think my Dad would have let me not watch the movie eventually. He liked the series, but loved the movie.

I'm a member of the group that thinks this has nothing to do with his acting. He did a damned fine job on MASH, though I haven't really ever seen any of his other stuff. I find it sad that he felt he needed to wait this long to tell people though.

He was awsome on Star Trek.
Ironbite-still couldn't tell he was gay.

I can't help but think how nice it is that it's becoming more an more common to have things like this treated as more and more of a non-issue. I'm one of the people who didn't know he was gay, but on the other hand I can't say I cared in the least. Who celebrities have relationships with doesn't interest me in the least. George Takei is the partial exception to this, because since going public he has become my favourite spokesperson. The video he did about the basketball player still makes me chuckle to this day.

Did anyone else see this part and wonder if it was missed because people coming out of the closet just really isn't big new anymore?
Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
