Windows XP is my main, although I do have an old win 98 (running on a K6-2 500MHz) box and a genuine MS-DOS 6.22 complete with an original ISA SB16 for legacy gaming before the DOXBOX app.
Although I'm loathe to admit it, XP is quite a bit more stable than my 98 box. Although my XP box looks just like the windows 98 with no bells and whistles.

We have lots of computers where I live, but the main one I use is Windows Vista, since I paid for it, and it's mine. I can do what I want with it.
However, I do love Linux and as soon as the warranty voids on my laptop I'm installing Lunar Linux, which I've wanted to try for a while.
Also in my house though are two XP machines, one other running Vista, a really, really old PC running Puppy Linux (since it only has a 10-gigabyte hard drive), and one broken Windows 3.1 machine that I won't let my parents get rid of since it the first computer I ever used, in 1994. It doesn't even work, but I still won't let them throw it out.
...I'm a sentimental crazy person.

I was brought up on 98's but I onyl really got into computing once I got an xp. Whilst 'Indie Logic' informs me that Ubuntu must be the best OS out there, I still love my old xp, and software works on it. Aside from anything I'm not sure my computer could take the strain of installing a new OS.

I use Vista, basically because it's the only thing that comes on laptops these days.

Vista32 ultimate on my laptop. Vista64 ultimate on my desktop. XP on my file/web server (it is my old desktop). Unfortunately I have to use linux at work and I profoundly dislike it. Also for work I had used Macs and profoundly dislike them too So in conclusion I am a windows fanboy

My main computer is a Macbook. I also have an old box that I use a test server for learning on, that runs Debian GNU/Linux.

I'm a mac girl - got a new'ish macbook running Leopard. I also have an older laptop with windows XP but it never gets used (old batteryitis). When I have more time I would like to get parallels so i can dual boot my mac with OS X and Linux (I am computer illiterate so I'm hoping by playing with Linux I will learn a few things and be less sad )

Dual boot machine with Linux SuSe 10.3 and XP. Use Linux most of the time and specially for going on the internet. XP was OK though, but it was too much work keeping it protected. I still use XP for a couple of old Microsoft only programs but not very often. The nice thing about Linux, so far anyway, is that web nasties can surreptitiously put things on my computer but they won't run, I dare say that will change eventually.

That's exactly what I've got (or maybe it's suse 10.2 - I've thought about updating it to 11.1, but I just don't have the time to get it set up like I want it again at the moment), plus a laptop with Vista. Yeah, I tend to use Linux for most things. I use my laptop for games that won't run in Cedega or Wine, so I rarely use XP any more. Funnily enough, though, I've been doing some development recently and actually using Vista instead of Linux. This is because I am a student, so that means I can work without getting out of bed. I have my Linux box set up as a samba server, too, so I can back up my work wirelessly. I'm going to gain so much weight

XP. A straightforward, rugged, dependable platform. My wife has Vista on her notebook. Thoroughly annoying. "Yes, goddamn it, I really, truly do want to open that program."

Windows XP with Service Pack 3. It's stable and really hard to kill.
I know, I suck.

I had XP on my old laptop until it broke and now I'm stuck with Vista and can't get most of my old games working... I've been thinking about switching to Linux but since I only have rudimentary skills with computers I'm propably better off with Windows...

Windows XP Media Center on teh lappy. Works fine for me, and I haven't really seen the need to update to Vista. In the next few weeks/months I'm planning on getting a new desktop, which will probably be running Vista 64-bit.
