Before everyone gets their knickers in a knot, was this actually written in english, or has this been translated? Even if it is accurate the word fairytale might have a somewhat different meaning in Sweden than what we usually ascribe to it in North America. Either way, ask a silly question, get a silly answer. It's been translated. I'd say that the connotations and value of the words I used in the translation are fairly close though. The Swedish words for "fairy tale" and "made up" are used, and to me the meaning and usage of those words feels similar in English. One thing I'd say is a bit off in the translation is the use of the word "fucking" in the interview with the president. He literally said that it was a "shit good answer" and "fucking great" is the closest I could think of in terms of what's actually meant, though "fuck" in English is definitely a stronger word than "shit" in Swedish. Oh, and looking over it again I see that I did remember a small part wrong; the word for character wasn't actually used, Jesus was called a person, but still a person in a fairy tale. Anyway, I'd say that the original is as insulting as the translation. But for reasons I mentioned earlier I still don't see any reason for knicker knots.
