Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm wondering why the quotes I submit are never accepted. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong when I submit for if maybe the powers don't agree with me on what is fundie. Yesterday I submitted a quote from RR in which the poster though it would be better if Mike Tyson's 4 year daughter went ahead and died rather than risking her growing up to be a Muslim like her father. Personally I think it is rather sick to wish death on a child, but perhaps that is just me???
Does anyone else have this problem. I would love some comments. Thanks.

Next time you want to submit something, put it here instead. If there's an issue with the quotes you choose, we can let you know with specific examples based on your example.
Would that help?

I saw that one, I clicked approve. So they're getting into admin.
But for us regular folks, once we vote on it, it's gone until it shows up on the main board.

I think what you are experiencing is most likely time lag. When a quote is submitted the various pub admins vote on it. It takes a certain amount of votes, I'm not sure the exact amount, to either approve or delete it. This means that 30 something mods could have looked at the quote, and if the votes are divided between approve and delete, then it could require MORE review.
As LR said though, if you can give you examples of a specific quote that you submitted, then we can most likely give you a little more insight.

I agree part of the problem may be time lag, I have voted on quotes and then not seen them appear on the mainpage until 5-6 days later sometimes. Some seem to zoom thru because everyone clicks approve and it gets 25 yes votes in one day. Others seem to linger as they get 11 yes and 5 no votes or whatever, more people have to vote on it to decide.
I submitted 5 quotes at once the other day, 3 appeared on the mainpages three days later, the fourth somehow took another 3 days to get approved, the fifth one didn't make it.

Thank you antichrist. It's also important to note carole, that not only do we need fundie, but we need darnedest too.

Don't forget a lot of people could click "abstain" which means it just goes on to the next person. I've done it a couple of times where I'm really on the fence about something.

I'm looking at the quote you submitted in the database, and it looks like it was absolutely crushed at 3 to 10 (for to against). www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=94330link for those interested, quoted text: It's horrific certainly, but given what we're used to from rapture ready, well, they need some element of humor or amusing nature to them or we're going to start gouging our own eyes out to stop seeing the horrible pain these people wish apon others.

Thanks everyone, I guess I wasn't allowing enough time for previous quotes to show up, I had no idea so many people voted on them. I also see the point about the most recent post I submitted, it is fundie but not as off the wall as some of the quotes over there. I just couldn't believe that someone would say it was for the best if a little girl died. I don't care what their reasons are for saying it - that's a horrible thing to do.

Yes, but, sadly, some of them are genuinely fucking horrible people. Possibly waylaid, hoodwinked and a bit soft in the skull, but they'd be venomous wankers no matter the excuse they happened to be using.

That, and like I said, it gets to the point without some amusing aspect I'd rather take a 2x4 to the crotch than believe these are other human beings saying this. At least with the humor I can laugh part of it off and I doubt I'm alone in that.

We could fill most of an internet (certainly, a good few tubes) with horrible, hateful shit from RR, but we'd all want to kill ourselves after ten minutes. It's be like living in Fred Phelps' head.
In general, the usual "Group X are awful and must die because they aren't us" stuff from RR isn't going to do it. It needs the piquant seasoning of a little stunning stupidity, base irony or, my personal favourite, their endless fucking Jeebus fanfic and curious notions of how he's going to show his "love" to make the grade.
There's nothing wrong with the quote submitted for a bit of discourse on the boards, but it's probably not mainpage-tastic.

I totally agree, I know a great many Christians that I think became Christians in order to validate their hate - of people like homosexuals and Arabs/Muslims. What is the saying about if your god hates all the same people you do then maybe you created him in your image. . . . .
