Actually, rrvisitor, I think it's the unbound freedom here on these boards that keeps you away. You're so used to posting on a board ruled like a totalitarian state where any slight stray from the path gets you shot down, that you're too out of your element for your own comfort.
And also, the hypocrisy in your post is thicker than molasses on a cold day.

They only stick around for about 10-20 posts anyway, and you have to be damn lucky to be in the conversation while they're there. And it will go unresolved, anyway. PMs, usually like 1 or 2. They don't like this place. It challenges their views. Regarding the question about changing the thread name, I've never tried it but I think if you start a thread then you can change the title whenever you want. So if one of you went over to Apologetics and started a thread, I don't think anyone else could change the title of it, only you could. The mods did. The mods can change anything they wish. MrMann confirmed they did and laughed about it. So insulting atheists is fine over there, but you're taking an affront to how christians are treated over here? In-group bias anyone? Anyone need another dash of it? Oh thank you, my bigot salad was a bit plain. "My hatred is justified, while your hatred is totally uncalled for." Thanks for the drive-by posting, however.

No, it's the absolute hatred you guys display here for Christians that keeps us away. We don't hate Christians here. Some of our most respected members are Christians. We make fun of people saying irrational things, usually based on religious dogma, though there have been athiest fundies posted in the past. Christians are not persecuted here, or anywhere else in the world. RR is our refuge from the real world, The real world being reality. we go there to fellowship because most of us aren't around people day in and day out that share our beliefs. So all you are want is validation for your comfy "we don't have to deal with reality because Goddidit" beliefs. Right.

"My hatred is justified, while your hatred is totally uncalled for."
Another way to say you're full of horse shit. Your hatred towards ANYONE that has not personally wronged you to an extent hatred is warranted is not legit, nor proper, nor morally sound. It's another way of defending your desire to hate 'insert flavor of dislike this week here' like the true bigot you can be.
I thought Christ and christianity was about love and forgiveness.
Oh fuck that, i forgot about Paul

I understand that you want a sort of safe haven. It's one of the few things I learned from my trip there. But if this is how you plan on going about it, it will ultimately fall apart. The opinion of Rapture Ready is not based on the fact that they're Christian. It is based off of what they say & do. You have no one but yourselves to blame.

In fact, I'm in love with one. (excuse me while I fawn about how cute he is. .... *sigh*) And my entire family is Christian, excluding my sister and a cousin. And I love them (all of them) to death! Some posters on rapture ready are their own brand of certified crazy. That's why I giggle. It's not because they're Christian. And I'm sorry, rrvistor, that you feel you have to seclude yourself from the real world, but this is reality. You'll have to either come to terms with it and live a happy social, productive life, or exclude yourself from it. Once you realize you've cut yourself off from the rest of the world to the point where you can't function happily within it, maybe it's time for a change? I wish you peace and luck in your future endeavors.

They don't like this place. It challenges their views. Well I can't speak for everyone, but you're right about me not liking this place. But it has nothing to do with you challenging my views, what is there posted here that has adequate substance to challenge my views? Nothing that I've seen. No, it's the absolute hatred you guys display here for Christians that keeps us away. Why would we want to hang out somewhere where we are hated on and made fun of at every opportunity? Your front page is full of the most vile comments imaginable, the things said there about me just blew my mind the first time I saw them. All from people that don't know the first thing about me. If those same people met me on the streets they wouldn't know the difference, RR is our refuge from the real world, we go there to fellowship because most of us aren't around people day in and day out that share our beliefs. We live in the real world just like you guys do and I'd venture to say we're all around you and you don't know it. Regarding the question about changing the thread name, I've never tried it but I think if you start a thread then you can change the title whenever you want. So if one of you went over to Apologetics and started a thread, I don't think anyone else could change the title of it, only you could. Funny how my Buddhist beliefs can stand up to scrutiny and criticism. Oh, and I tried to post a Buddhist fundie on the main board myself, not sure why it was rejected. I have Christian friends, they just don't run around harassing their neighbours with Chick tracts or look down their noses at others. Nope they just go around doing what Jesus would of done, helping the poor (they volunteer at an AIDS hospice ) But you people say they're not "TRUE CHRISTIANS ®" because they get off their asses and help sinners. I also give money to the Salvation Army because they're the only ones picking up the slack that our government has left the poor and needy in. I do my own volunteering as well, but not being a Christian, it doesn't matter. Edit: And you don't understand why we find this scary? RR is our refuge from the real world, we go there to fellowship because most of us aren't around people day in and day out that share our beliefs. When your family wants you to see a doctor because they feel you need help, it's because they love you. The people at RR are only feeding your delusion. It's no different from people who suffer from alien abductions (or have sex with aliens on a regular basis). You people need help, hopefully nationalized medicare will make it possible for you to get it.

But it has nothing to do with you challenging my views, what is there posted here that has adequate substance to challenge my views? I seriously question whether you've read this site very thoroughly if you can possibly say that with a straight face. Except the Christians who post here. and the Christian moderator we have here. Or do they not count? Except...you kinda do.... Do you mean the FSTDTers, or the RRers, because I have trouble imagining worse things than what the RR board is quoted as saying. You specifically? And can we have some examples? A lot of us don't visit the front board. A fun little strawman, wrapped in the hypocrisy of judging while complaining about judgment. I'm not so sure. If you're getting quoted on the front page, I'm betting they'd know the difference. Unless you are the kind of person who can only espouse their beliefs in a situation where nobody might criticise you. That's cowardice, and it certainly shows lack of character. Not to mention a lack of faith in one's beliefs. See that whole "You don't know me" thing? You actually demonstrate who you are, who you are in a meaningful sense, through what you say and how you say it. Unless you want to show me some innocuous comments that are drawing you such major flak. Yeah, it sucks dealing with people on a regular basis. I have to mix with the likes of Rev Dave Garrecht and Scott Barr. I've never once thought about making a site which would ban anyone who questioned me, though. I know you guys, you fundies who need to cut yourselves off from reality are all around me, and it scares me, because a good number of people on RR are fucking dangerous. This has nothing to do with Christianity, but those pathetic fucks who get a chubby at holy wars and brown people being tortured. I wonder why you would choose to defend that sort of suck inhumanity. Aside from it being affirmatively stated, RR's boards allow for an admin to edit. Ignorance isn't even an excuse here.

I can't believe I missed this one, given all the times I got, "I was just like you once," & said more-or-less the same thing.
But I backed it up. I pointed out that, since they can't refute my arguments, they obviously must not have gone through as much thought as I did. This is something that no one understood, and it continues to be flatly dismissed, every time I bring it up.

I love the christian persecution complex: your a vile sinner who deserves to be brutally tortured for eternity, but how dare you take such a rude tone with me!
or the RR version: All gays, muslims and democrats should be executed, but how dare they not kiss our ass every single time they discuss our completely unproven superstition!

And dodos for snacks (snack time has been cancelled...also, 3, 2, 1, on someone reading that as "dildos"). And for dessert...shit, I can't think of any more endangered species.... Dodos are not endangered...Now that I got my need for stupid humour out of the way... Well I can't speak for everyone, but you're right about me not liking this place. But it has nothing to do with you challenging my views, what is there posted here that has adequate substance to challenge my views? Nothing that I've seen. You haven't been looking hard. Name some of your views and I'll be glad to provide links. Us who? Christians? Like, say, Sandman, or Paradox, or Zachski? The mainpage is open to anyone, the forums have a more or less separate community. I'm not exactly proud of a lot of the comments there, but I'd rather be held responsible for my own words, not those of other people. I think most people here would agree. No, they probably wouldn't know the difference, unless you talked about your beliefs. Your point being? Physically, yes, you live in the real world. Kind of unavoidable. And I'm fairly certain I'm not surrounded by rapturites, my local fundies are of another stripe.

Maybe its just a misunderstanding, we assume 'hate christians' means we insult them, demonize them and try to take away rights from them. This makes sense to us sane people but several of the quotes from our 401 page archive of vile and hate filled quotes from RR have shown that their definition of 'hating christians' is not denying basic scientific facts, treating homosexuals as human beings, not mindlessly accepting every evidenceless claim presented...

I eat pandas for breakfast. And koalas for lunch. And tigers for dinner. And dodos for snacks (snack time has been cancelled...also, 3, 2, 1, on someone reading that as "dildos"). And for dessert...shit, I can't think of any more endangered species.... Ocelots. Cute, fuzzy little ocelots.
