Could it be the raptards.. or some other equally loony group, checking to see what's going on, just as confused as the rest of us?

It could also be people who don't realize they have to make an account here, thinking their old one will transfer and being confused when it won't let them log in. It could also be normal lurkers that never had accounts and we never realized were hanging around the old site, as it didn't report how many non-members were looking.

I'm throwing my vote in behind Oriet's last option, because I was one of said normal lurkers. *invisible*

I lurked for a moment, since I couldn't log in. I thought I'd forgotten my password, since I hardly ever posted. Then I realized I was just more idiotic than even I had ever suspected, and created a new acct.

One of them would've been me. Just set this account up a few minutes ago.
I never really used the forums on the old site, and seldom commented on the main page. But I did spend a lot of time reading through pages and pages of quotes...

Gotta say, so long as we don't lose any regulars in the transition it'd be a nice side-effect to have some of you lurkers join us.

As a frequent lurker of...a lot of places, I'd say the crisis/switch acts as sort of an ice-breaker for people who might have remained anonymous before. When you're hanging around a well-established board where a lot of names are recognizable at a glance, it can be pretty intimidating. For me, anyway. The reboot (for lack of a better word) lets everyone get a fresh start.

I was lurking for a while, until I got annoyed with putting my name in everytime I wanted to post. Also I wanted Satancat up. I love Satancat.
@ Pookie, I love your avatar.
