I no longer go to movies, and have not for a long time. There are people inside the theaters.

So what do you guys think of The Others? (Only horror-esque movie I've ever seen >.>)
I, too, do not go to the theater much any more. Netflix is useful for that, but I don't get horror movies because I don't like being scared. I practically had a heart attack when Bilbo freaked out in Rivendell over wanting the Ring back, although I was only eight or nine. The Lord of the Rings is still my favorite movie series, and I have all three in extended edition. I can probably remember that little poem about who got all the rings (Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky, nine for the Dwarf lords in their halls of stone... Yeah, I remember it).

No wonder you reacted badly! I was in my early forties, but my reaction to Bilbo's freakout was similar to yours --- that was one seriously intense moment! ~David D.G.

I enjoyed "Drag Me to Hell" as much for the in-jokes and references to earlier Sam Raimi movies and other horror movies as for the horror aspect. I was a bit annoyed at the more-than-implied racism toward Gypsies, but I understood that it was necessary for the plot. I thought the actors did an excellent job playing their parts, including the starlet's progression from semi-freaked skeptic to terrified believer.
As for not being able to tell the difference between a coin and a button of the same size...considering her state of mind and the fact that she didn't look in the envelope, I thought it made a good, semi-suspenseful end. "Did she or didn't she?" The end reminded me of the short story "Casting the Runes" (better known to moviegoers as "Night of the Demon").
