Very sad. I always wonder why people do this, especially seemingly stable people.

Very sad. I always wonder why people do this, especially seemingly stable people. Who is truly mentally "stable"? How do we define mental stability? There are so many varying degrees, you know, from batshit-fucking-lunacy to so-boring-he-might-as-well-be-dead, and we all fall somewhere in the middle, man, and from day to day, our positions on this scale change, so how can we truly judge another's mental stability? Our own legal system -- well, in the US -- recognizes that our mental states can and do change even minute to minute. I am aware that there are several methods used in psychiatry/psychology to assess mental stability, but I feel that they are subjective, based either on the patients' self-assessment or the doctor's opinion. While that opinion is based on years of study and continuing education, the doctor's assessment of symptoms, and set diagnostic criteria, it is still, at its core, subjective. And I am really, re~ally high right now. I probably shouldn't post while stoned, I tend to ramble, and I'm not even making sense to myself right now. Of course, I've been up since 12:30 in the afternoon, and it's almost 6:30AM now, so I'm sure that doesn't help. I'm heading off to bed, now. Good night!

The recent reports I've heard said it was more of an... unfortunate accident.

A large number of people die each year in the US from it. I believe that. I just don't believe he getting off, or that he killed himself.

I don't know if I'd go that far. It's possible. So is a celeb stalker or someone who just didn't like him.
