Holo-porn is fine, too.

Does anyone who ever watched Star Trek really think all holodeck activities were as wholesome as they showed on the show? I'm willing to bet Riker, at least, had regular holo-orgies starring as many female crewmates as he could program in at one time. And when he got bored with them, he moved on to outdoing Kirk's conquests. There was plenty of holo-porn mentioned on DS9. Vulcan Love Slave is one title that comes to mind.

I want the beam me up thingy. Transporters! That's what they were! Anyways, I want those. You can have your VR. I want an easy commute.

When they come up with a reliable way to teleport matter, we will never have to go to the bathroom again. And THEN we will find a way to use it for porn.

We can use it to create people who can fulfill our desires perfectly. Now what we'd need is some genetic extrapolation equipment, and a fast computer (I mean REALLY fucking fast). After that, it's a triviality to send the data into the transport buffer, and have it produce the desired result.

Isn't that essentially what a replicator is?

Really the next thing will probably be effective voice controlled computers. Admitted the voice recognition programs are passable now, but it needs to get a little better in order to be integrated into something like a smart house. Being able to voice control your lighting, stereo, TV, coffee maker, little beer fetching robot and whatever else you might have will be very "Star Trek" like.

Someone who doesn't have and doesn't want to have herpes?
Re: Voice recognition: It's shit to this day. You've gotta speak very clearly. Not a good idea.

Wine could be made with a replicator. It just wouldn't benefit from aging. Same with cheese and yogurt. Except the aging part with regards to the yogurt. It, on the other hand, wouldn't have any of the awesome bacteria cultures that help digestion.
