Do you like them?
I love them. I've started doing them, too. It's so useful, but only when the quotes are from the same thread.

This has been discussed elsewhere and the opinion is that they will be automatically rejected.
There were a lot of reasons given, I suggest you look up the threads as I'm not going into it here. Please do not submit them as they will not be approved according to the current wisdom here.

I searched before making the thread.
As usual, the search function of any forum is worthless.

I was just looking to try to cite the thread and I couldn't find it either...so don't feel bad. I do know that we were just talking about this within the last couple of days and multiple quotes were rejected.
Complaints about finding them amongst thousands, complaints that they were only attributed to "many" instead of the posters names, complaints about them being longwinded and dry instead of a short funny quote were all mentioned. I should mention that in order for us to use these quotes and be protected under the fair use law all quotes must have proper attribution. Most multiple quotes lack this, they just say "many" or something, the individual posters name is not included with each quote.

I don't care for them. They get really long and lose their impact--you know how two candies out of the heart-shaped box are great, but half the heart makes you kinda sick? That's how I feel. I delete 'em on sight.

I don't think a conclusion was made. Some automatically reject them because they don't name the fundies (maybe if you listed the fundies in the quote it wouldn't be as bad). Another problem is with the new system you can't check if the fundie has been previously submitted.
Also, there's ones where I'd approve half of them, but not the other half. What am I supposed to do, flip a coin?
If it's only two, that's okay, but when you have lists of 8 or 9 it gets a little difficult to follow.

Well...if I remember correctly Distind (you know, the site admin?) said to dump them, to me that is a conclusion. Maybe I'm remembering this all wrong though...but I don't think I am. Where in the hell is that thread?

Okay, fair enough. I didn't read it.

I guess this is a dumb question, but what exactly are "multiple quotes"?

I guess this is a dumb question, but what exactly are "multiple quotes"? FSTDT quotes attributed to a group (i.e. a group of short quotes, each said by a different user, all on one topic).
