Right, I may not have a scanner, so I can't put down my rough sketches so people can see how I come up with my ideas, BUT, nonetheless, here's my latest work. I'm trying to build up a portfolio of work to showcase my ability with terrain art in particular, though I'll also be getting back into 3D modelling in order to build up further skills in the areas I wish to get into (Games Industry). However, for now, I'll be posting stuff I've done in World Machine 2 and then rendered in Terragen 2. Total rendering time: 49 hours 21 minutes and 27 seconds. Post-work including: Contrast correction, Colour filter (Slight blue tone for cold look), and a soft-glow effect. If you have your own landscape stuff you wish to put up, feel free to do so in this thread. Comments and critique welcome.

Bluefinger, that is amazing. You've got a lot of extra talent, mind if I take some?
Also, if you don't mind, do you have a higher res image that could fit well to my 1680x1050 monitor?

Sorry, but I only have a 1280x720 res image. I'll have to re-render a higher res pic, and then do the same post-work again in order to get you what you want. Most likely, it'll take a bit longer as well to render (the water and reflective shaders really did a number on how long it took).

'tis alright, your computer deserves a good rest. What are your computer's specs? Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66ghz (Quad Core processor), 8GB of RAM, 1TB HDD space, ATI Radeon HD4870 1GB graphics card, Vista 64 Business edition... it is a beast, to say the least.

Wield that ungodly power with great caution. Many people's fates rest in your care. I am not creative/patient/cool/rich enough to do 3d modeling, so I just use my compy for games. Once it starts to slow down I want to upgrade from 4 to 8 gigs of memory and maybe pop in another video card (SLi FTW.) Sorry for swinging this topic towards my computer fetishism p.s. your specs made me fungasm

That is gorgeous, really. It's so awesome that you can do that with a computer, must take a lot of talent and hard work.
