Hey, I have read some of the other threads here and I am curious if fundamentalists are allowed to post about their views here? Absolutely. Actually, we would love a few ACTUAL conservatives around to debate and discuss things with. All we usually get are batshit insane nutjobs like Cairco and deliberately obtuse dittoheads like Skyfire. I would LOVE an articulate, intelligent conservative taking up residence here at FSTDT. The problem is that most "fundamentalists" do not come here to discuss or debate, they come here to lecture and preach. To "educate" us about their beliefs. They seem to be unaware of the fact that many of the people on this site know their beliefs and doctrines better than they do. (Anyone else remember the guy lecturing us on the Rapture who didn't even know what "Millenialism" is?) If a fundamentalist wanted to talk about their beliefs, that would be great, but the vast majority of them just want to tell us that they are right, we are wrong, and we are all going to Hell.

A place where an omnipotent, omniscient, all-loving God tortures people for eternity for not accepting His specific Doctrine existence without empirical proof?

Jebediah: You make a good point, but on the other hand, doesn't it sound a lot more like an insult than an actual invitation?
There's also sort of a patronizing undertone, there.
Of course, few, if any, people are probably going to come no matter what it says, I'm just trying to offer constructive criticism.

I too would like to extend an invite and give a big "'ello!" (cause I'm in Britain now and we don't use the letter H, dontcha know? ) Isn't that linguistic quirk a Cockney thing, though, as opposed to a British thing? Damn! I was wondering why I've been here a month and these Yorkshire people look at me funny whenever I drop the "h" out of words. I'm moving to London...

Well, since I screwed up the original greeting, I would like to try again.
Welcome, Rapture Ready posters. We are happy to have you with us.

I haven't had a creationist to play with in a while. Any takers? Just please be somebody who knows a little bit about it. If you think that evolution means nothing exploded and then humans appeared, I want no part of it. Not out of fear, but because you'll make my head hurt.

The people of 'Yawk-sheh' shouldn't be criticising anyone's accent. I'm being completely facetious of course.

I haven't had a creationist to play with in a while. Any takers? I can play if you'd like. The six day creation is both a literal and figurative story, it took 6 quantum-days to create the universe but currently, only God know how long a quantum-day is. And it is not strange that cosmologists see traces of what they think was the Big Bang because God first created all the energy that was needed for the universe to function. It was like you have to create the dam first, then install the turbines and then wait for the water to rise in the dam and then siphon off the water that will be turned into electricity. Only if the rest of the infrastructure is in place, can people use the energy, i.e. high capacity transportation lines. When the energy was created in large enough amounts, God made the natural laws which governed how the energy would behave when unleashed. The unleashing of this energy by God on the first quantum-day of the creation is what cosmologists today consider as the Big Bang and the cosmic microwave background radiation discovered by Penskie & Wilson is just basically God's signature on His creation!

Well, since I screwed up the original greeting, I would like to try again. Welcome, Rapture Ready posters. We are happy to have you with us. Thank you for the welcome. Though I don't post at RR under this username I've been known to submit a few things to this site also. Not a total fundy (surprised I've not been banned from RR yet) I am a Christian, but I also believe and have a (what I think is good) understanding of Evolution, and other sciences.
