"Opiate" by Tool
"The Flood" also by Tool (The main part of the song starts about 4:10, although I think the 4 minute intro accents it well)

I don't think it's really anti-religious--it's more like anti-stupid people--but every fundie I know who heard it, hate hate hates.... "She Left Me for Jesus", by Hayes Carll www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjOflq4Ef4c

Stand Up For Judas as performed by dirk gaughan
The Romans were the masters When Jesus walked the land In Judea and in Galilee They ruled with an iron hand The poor were sick with hunger And the rich were clothed in splendour And the rebels, whipped and crucified Hung rotting as a warning And Jesus knew the answer - "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" Said, "Love your enemies" But Judas was a Zealot and he Wanted to be free "Resist", he said, "the Romans' tyranny"
So stand up, stand up for Judas And the cause that Judas served It was Jesus who betrayed the poor with his word
Now Jesus was a conjuror, Miracles were his game He fed the hungry thousands And they glorified his name He cured the lame and leper He calmed the wind and the weather And the wretched flocked to touch him So their troubles would be taken And Jesus knew the answer - "All you who labour, all you who suffer Only believe in me" But Judas sought a world where no-one Starved or begged for bread "The poor are always with us", Jesus said
Now Jesus sowed division Where none had been before Not the slave against the master But the poor against the poor Caused son to rise up against father And brother to fight against brother For "He that is not with me Is against me" was his teaching Said Jesus, "I am the answer You unbelievers shall burn forever Shall die in your sins" "Not sheep or goats" said Judas but "Together we may dare Shake off the chains of tyranny we share"
Jesus stood upon the mountain With a distance in his eyes "I am the Way, the Life" he cried "The Light that never dies So renounce all earthly treasures And pray to your heavenly father" And he pacified the hopeless With the hope of life eternal Said Jesus, "I am the answer And you who hunger only remember Your reward's in heaven" So Jesus preached the other world But Judas wanted this And he betrayed his master with a kiss
By sword and gun and crucifix Christ's gospel has been spread And two thousand cruel years have shown The way that Jesus led The heretics burned and tortured And the butchering bloody Crusaders The bombs and rockets sanctified That rain down death from heaven They followed Jesus, they knew the answer All unbelievers must be believers Or else be broken "So place no trust in saviours" Judas said, "for everyone Must be to his or her own self a sun"

Let's see...Suite-Pee by SoaD, Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People," and I can't remember the artist but I was always a fan of "Personal Jesus." The original version, not the MM version. Also, "Judith" by A Perfect Circle.
"Imagine" by John Lennon is also sort of anti-religion, so let's count that too.
Ironically, I've been known to quote the Christian metal song "Not I" by Demon Hunter in an anti-religious context. So if that counts, well, there it is.

"The Light" by the Proclaimers: Not so much anti-religious as anti-a particular kind of religious - the kind we call "fundie" in these parts.

Ironically, I've been known to quote the Christian metal song "Not I" by Demon Hunter in an anti-religious context. So if that counts, well, there it is. The original "Personal Jesus" was by Depeche Mode, one of the most badass pop groups ever. I'm a *huge* Marilyn Manson fan, but "The Fight Song" never really impressed me all that much. I guess it struck me as not being subtle enough with the anti-religious message in the chorus, thus coming off as just aggressively douchey - same as NIN's "Heresy". My favorite anti-religion song (other than some that have already been posted) is Gary Numan's "Prayer for the Unborn". Here are the lyrics... Badass NIN-style industrial metal from the guy who did "Cars" in the 70's. It's not subtle either, but since the song really has a point (he wrote it after his daughter was stillborn) it's really good and genuinely angry. The final verse gives me the chills.

The Project Hate MCMXCIX - Burn, Symphony of the Deceived, every song they've ever done. Burn has the lyrics "All christians must burn for satan." Behemoth - Antichristian Phenomenon. Vital Remains - Dechristianize.
If I went through my playlist, I could probably come up with a couple of pages. And that's just listing song titles.

Probably got a few here in my collection, but the first that comes to mind is Imperative Reaction's Salvation.
Seems to be more against organised religion, than religion in general.

Do 'Mississippi Squirrel Revival' and 'Would Jesus Wear A Rolex (On His Television Show)' by Ray Stevens count?

Not really anti-religious, but has some interesting implications for the Faustian-type devil that fundies obsess over.

Do 'Mississippi Squirrel Revival' and 'Would Jesus Wear A Rolex (On His Television Show)' by Ray Stevens count? Well, they are anti-fundie, even if they are pro-Christian. Why not?

"Hey Jesus" by the Indigo Girls is one I listen to often.
Hey Jesus it's me I don't usually talk to you But my baby's gonna leave me and there's something you must do And I am not your faithful servant I hang around sometimes with a bunch of your black sheep But if you make my baby stay I'll make it up to you And that's a promise I will keep
Hey Jesus it's me I'm the one that talked to you yesterday I asked you please please for a favor But my baby's gone away Went away anyway And I don't really think it's fair You got the power to make us all believe in you And when we call you in our despair You don't come through
Hey Jesus it's me, I'm sorry I don't remember all I said I had a few, no, too many And they went straight to my head And made me feel like I could argue with God But you know it's easy for you you got friends all over the world You had the whole world waiting for your birth But now I ain't got nobody I don't know what my life's worth Cause when I die and I get up to your doors I don't even know if you're going to let me in the place How come I gotta die to get a chance to talk with you Face to face...
