It's all sex, at its heart. I had a conversation about this quite recently with a psychologist friend of mine - he leans to the philosophical end of psychology rather than the boring shit with brain-scans and porn, you know the kind of thing - we wondered that, since the Fundie mind is generally overwhelmed and dominated by a controlling bastard of a superego, the psyche is driven to sexualise the concepts of control by way of compensation, 'cos all that libido still has to go somewhere regardless of the constraints placed upon it by the Puritanical superego, and finds an outlet in bondage... Blah blah. Anyway, the following is pretty interesting, not to mention arse-clenchingly awful: www.sexinchrist.com/submission.html"BDSM does not necessarily have to involve whips and chains, black leather, or dungeon gear, although if they find these props help them get in the mood, there is not reason why Christians should not use them. There's nothing sinful about these items. In fact, they are part of the Christian heritage. As Paul wrote to the Corinthians, I beat my body and bring it into submission, for fear that by any means, that after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected."*Shudder*

I have braved the depths of the Internet, and I have seen things that would send lesser people screaming and running for cover. But I am terrified of clicking that link. What has happened to me?

Frankly, I wasn't that disturbed by it.
Ironbite-I think it might have frightened me into sanity.

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord, 23 for the husband is head of the wife as also Christ is head of the church. He is the Savior of the body. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as also Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 to make her holy, cleansing her in the washing of water by the word.
Just to derail a second, am I the only one who thinks that the verse numbers are annoying and sometimes fuck up the context? In the above, it looks like it’s about “22 wives” and god is 23 years old like in news articles when the person’s name is listed and their age right afterwards… “Arrested was John Wayne Settlemier, 34, and 19 year old Billy Ray Roberts, both of Lubbock.” And apparently there are 24 bodies to save, 25 husbands and the church is 26 years of age. Read again…
Twenty-two wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord, 23, for the husband is head of the wife as also Christ is head of the church. He is the Savior of the body, twenty-four. Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Twenty-five husbands, love your wives, just as also Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26, to make her holy, cleansing her in the washing of water by the word.
Okay, back on the rails.
