What REALLY sucks is that I want the game, but I don't want a DS. But the DS is fun. Especially since it's absurdly easy to pirate DS games onto a DS.

They need to make Super Smash Brothers for the Ds. Sure the screen would be smaller, but it should have no trouble running the game. And it'd be great stress relief on the go. You get mad, just pop open the Ds and beat the crap out of someone!
Come on Nintendo; you won't go for my 'Wii Love' game idea, but this should be a no-brainer!

There's no analogue stick on the DS though.

Don't need one. They can simplify the moves a little, but they should have no trouble putting it on a smaller system.

Here's the list of games I want for the DS: 358/2 Days. You starting to see why I don't think it's a valuable purchase? Especially since, since they came out with Re: Chain of Memories, I haven't been playing the original (which was for Gameboy Advance).

What video games do you like? Mostly RPGs. Honestly, I don't deviate much from Kingdom Hearts & Final Fantasy. Firstly, I have to be interested in the game in question. Secondly, my memory sucks. Thirdly, I don't see how people can have time to play all the titles they do. I've owned FFX for a few years now, & I've STILL never beaten any of the Monster Arena monsters.

No interest in the GBA/DS FF games? Not to mention the Dragon Quest series...

If you do end up getting a DS, I highly recommend The World Ends With You. It's another Squeenix RPG, and a solid one at that. It might partially be because I've played it so recently, but I consider it on par with, if not better than, Chrono Trigger and FF6 (I do not personally consider FFVII to be that great a game by comparison to either, though it's my understanding I tend to be in a minority position there). The game also features a very unique combat system that more or less forces you to multitrack the top and bottom screens, playing one with the stylus and playing the other with either the D-pad (as a righty) or the face buttons (ABXY) as a lefty. And there are mechanics that promote switching between the two over just button mashing the top. If you're into action RPGs you also might like Lunar Knights, which is a sequel to the Boktai series on the GBA, sans Solar Sensor. It's made by Kojima, if that helps.

You're joking, right? I can't get away from comments to the effect of, "VII is just a bad copy of VI."
Well, on that issue, I've played a fair bit of VI, & I have to say this: It bores me. I don't give a rat's ass about any of the characters besides Kefka. VII is better.
The one thing I can really point to in VI & say, "I like it better" are the unique skillsets of the various characters. 'Course, that comes to a disadvantage as often as it comes to an advantage, with nigh immutable stats & Gau.
But, that's all beside the point. Suffice it to say, I don't have a huge interest in GBA/DS games. Even if I suddenly start loving VI, I'll just get Anthologies.
As for The World Ends With You, I've heard of it, but it doesn't look like something I'd like. Then again, I said the same thing about Kingdom Hearts the first commercial I saw for it, so who knows?

Thirdly, I don't see how people can have time to play all the titles they do. They probably spend less time online discussing FFVII.

I've had my DS for about a year and a half and still own only Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. EDIT: Oh, and Personal Trainer: Cooking, but I'm not really counting that as a "game" (I will say that the recipes I have made with it are pretty good, though).
I'll have to look and see what my FCs for each game are, I like playing online sometimes...
Also, is Nintendogs any good?
