"We've got eight years of science to make up for," said Dr. Curt Civin, whose research allowed scientists to isolate stem cells and who now serves as the founding director of the University of Maryland Center for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. "Now the silly restrictions are lifted."
See, this is the thing. Religion has been such a hindrance to science since its inception. Just consider how much further along scientific research and knowledge would be if not for the more than thousand year dominance of the church known as the dark ages.
With the speed at which science advances today, those eight years without quality stem cell research has cost untold unnecessary deaths.
Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.--Steven Weinberg
Religion can never reform mankind because religion is slavery--Robert G. Ingersoll
I don't know why people compare George Carlin to God. He's great and all, but he's no George Carlin.-Anon.
I saw this. It's awesome. If Shrub & Co. hadn't limited the research for 8 straight years, who knows how far we would have come.
Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day, filling out useless forms and listening to eight different bosses drone on about about mission statements. (From Office Space. It's pretty much my life, in a nutshell.)
