If they ignore us, then we might go away.

Oh, some of the comments on that article were nearly submittable... Screw you guys. I want to see more gay, bi and lesbian romance treated as normal.

How could anything on Home and Away be considered normal?

I haven't seen that show (I'm in America) but it sounds like what happened a few years ago with a television show called Ugly Betty. There was a character that had a sex change and the fundies went nuts.

I forget, did the fundies hate Will & Grace as much as I was addicted to it?

Speaking of which, I heard there was a transgendered member on the Real World this season (I don't care about the show, but my friends feel obliged to tell me all things trans). Don't know if this has the fundies' knickers in a twist, but I'd assume so...Assuming anyone still watches that show. They REALLY hate it when transfolk get on TV, because it's getting harder to hate even gays, and they have to hurt someone....

Betty and Grey's are on the same station, too.

I forget, did the fundies hate Will & Grace as much as I was addicted to it? Yeah, I remember some tantrums being thrown back when it was popular.

TV needs more gays. Actually, I approve of anything that pisses off the fundies.

That's like Grey's Anatomy. There were two characters that were supposed to be lesbians, and they both were cut from the show. Betty and Grey's are on the same station, too. Not quite the same, but I'm reminded of these for some reason Teknoman, the US adaptation of Tekkaman Blade, had a character named Maggie who was a mechanic and one of the secondary characters. In the original version, she was named Levin, was a man, and was either a crossdresser or trans. I don't know which, because there are lines from two episodes that contradict one another (probably because of bad translation). They didn't want that making the airwaves. Conversely, a lot of the blood made it in. Tekkaman Blade 2 was an OAV that never aired in the Us, but was ported into the country on VHS and then DVD. The character in my avatar only goes by Dead End, but is a man that looks a lot like a woman. When he first encounters one of the main characters, he makes a quip about not being his type unless he was a "child of sodom" or something to that effect. In the English dub, they replace it with a line about what to do about the poor boy who can't resist a sad song. In fact, I don't think they ever mention that Dead isn't a girl in the US version. Keep in mind, the videos themselves are identical: The OAV includes a lot of blood and violence, not to mention nudity (animated, but still). Hell, Tekkamen a characters who gain super-powered armor through a transformation process that ruins their clothes. So by default, this is not a video for kids. All that's fine, but don't have a guy that looks like a girl or suggests a character might be gay. Also, I'm with Vene. We need more stuff that pisses the fundies off, gay or otherwise. Consider it a "grow the fuck up" initiative. The sooner they learn to live in a world where not everything meets their approval, the better off they'll be.

It was on TV a few weeks ago that some people wanted a person fired from her job on CBBC because she hadd been born with one arm. I suspect the same group are part of those kicking off over this.
