My name means, "to bind/snare." I wish my name were a bit more awesome. I actually think that's a pretty cool meaning. Especially because it's not some strange, religious meaning. And it's not very awkward. Given that I think a better translation of my name is probably "God has given", I'm somewhat jealous that you have a name that's not a sentence about someone else. At least I'm not named after a geographical feature, though.

I know what you mean Cagnazzo, my name means "gift from God" and my surname involves a geographical feature. I'd much rather have to bind or snare.

I have a Biblical name, but I'm not actually named after that person. I'm not named after anyone. My dad picked it because it's a nice Jewish name.

My name means "twin." Biblical name, but at least I'm named after the sceptic of the Bible. O hai thar Tom. Maybe it's a wee bit nitpicky and "OMG MILITANT ATHEIST OMG", but I absolutely HATE that so many names are based off religious texts/heros/etc. Three of my names (all but my surname) are either from or based off of Christianity. Of course, it wasn't like my parents went all "We need to name her after Bible people!", it just so happens that my great-great-grandmother on my mom's side and my great-grandmother on my dad's side had very Bible-y names. But still. *pouts*

It also doesn't help that there are a fucking lot of names in the Bible.

I'm not literally named after St. Thomas the apostle. I got this name because it was in fashion in Norway when I was born.

So, I believe your names to be...
Jebediah = Rebecca Jedi Knight = Thomas SimSim, Cagnazo, MaybeNever = Matthew, Nathaniel, Theodore, or Dorothy Sanda = Reed
There's a lot of possibilities for Cait, but if it's not something obscure the most likelly is Dionne/Dionna, but that doesn't quite seem right.

My parents were convinced I was going to come out a girl (go on, make your own jokes), so they spent ages working out female names. When I did emerge (fully male), they had to cast around for a name and literally took the first one they found in a book. So, when my sister was born a few years later, they had a name already floating around.
So, I got a name pulled out of a hat, and my sister got hers second-hand.

I think I would rather be geographic.
