My Contracts, Property, Criminal Law, and Torts casebooks. Also a book on legal writing.
I am reading a book for fun. It's about 300 pages long and I could normally read it in a few days. I've been working on it for about 2.5 weeks.

The Satanic Bible.
Nope, not joking. Quite interesting, really.

I have so much I need to read for school that when I read for fun it's takes a billion times longer than usual. I haven't finished a book for fun in...forever. Right now, for school, I'm reading five books. I miss the days of high school when I read a chapter a week for my classes. Now, I have to read entire 300 page books in two weeks, for each of my classes.

The last book I was reading I just finished today when I could have finished it weeks ago, but with school (mostly chemistry) I've been buried in several different assignments (all in the same class).

Yay, I finished Lord of the Rings tonight! I'll probably head over to the library tomorrow and see what else catches my fancy.

A friend at work loaned me a copy of The Walking Drum by Louis L'Amour. It's wonderful to read a historical novel that actually knows some history beyond "Europeans were all Catholics, and women were treated unfairly."
I've also read The Sword in the Stone, mainly because the libraries where I lived when I was a kid didn't have it.

Right now I'm obsessed with some books by David Pelzer and Richard Pelzer, two brothers who were child abuse survivors. David's book "A Child Called It" is probably the best known, not very well written, but more than makes up for it with his horrific story of brutality at his own mother's hands. Every time I hear stories like this, it makes me wonder how many more children are out there suffering that we don't know about. Seems like there's a child abuse story on the news every day anymore.

A friend loaned me Never Shoot A Stampede Queen:A Rookie Reporter in the Cariboo. A collection of stories by the author about his time as a reporter in a small town in Canada. It's very funny, the sounds like it was quite insane.

I read Guts by Chuck Palahniuk. I don't think I'm going to jack off anymore...seriously, that stuff is better than anything a fundie can bring.

The Satanic Bible. Nope, not joking. Quite interesting, really. I read that last year, and quite enjoyed it. The whole formula of "write down a shocking chapter heading! Then start out with some majorly creepy prose, and transition into the sort of level-headed advice everyone should read!" doesn't wear out. I'm reading Darwin's Dangerous Idea by Daniel Dennett right now, and it's very interesting. About to begin The Greatest Show on Earth.

My whole summer was occupied by one hell of a novel called "Little, Big". I can say it's one of my favourites now, but it certainly is a read you have to work for. It's very long, meandering, complicated, but wholly wonderful in all ways. I don't have the skill to describe it, but it's a little wonder of a novel that I think anyone with a serious interest in reading should check out.

- AJ Jacobs' new book - Kill The Princess
I have When The Fan Hits The Shit on the way as well. It promises to be full of lulz.
