I can't decide. I want to read The Republic but I also want to read the Fall and Decline of the Roman Empire.

Finished Codex Alera and have started on the original Three Musketeers. Because I can. Hurrah for free classics upon registering my eReader.

Okay fuck it. I'm not going to read the History of the Fall and Decline of the Roman Empire just yet. It's a million and one pages.
So instead i'm trying to finish the Ancestor's Tale by Richard Dawkins then I'm heading on to either Le Mort d'Arthur or Three Musketeers.

For the bibliophiles:
I just purchased an Alice in Wonderland illustrated with stills from the 1915 silent movie (not sure on the year of the book, but the ad seemed to indicate it was also 1915).

They didn't normally start putting date of publication in books until the 1920s.

Is the copyright page missing, then? Haven't gotten it into my hot little hands just yet (seller is in Seattle, I am in Chicago). The seller informs me that it was published in 1919. I'm just seriously hoping that the condition matches the pictures and description, but it wasn't so prohibitively expensive that I'll be too put out if it doesn't (unless it's trashed). I'm not buying it to resell for profit, after all, but rather to give to my wife as a gift since Alice is her favorite story.

I finished A Dance With Dragons last night, after ploughing through the rest of the series. It could be years before the next book is out, but I need to know what happens next, now!!!

I'm reading the Dragonlance series.
Also, I found out that my dad has a little booklet called "The End of America" by Porter Stansberry. The title also has the text, "In the next 12 months, a single event will likely change our way of life in this country... forever. Will you be ready?"
That text is right next to a picture of Barrack Obama.

Bought The Discourses by Machiavelli Which edition? I picked up the Penguin paperback years ago, because it was the only version I could find at the time. Now there's a deluxe edition of the Prince/Discourses, hardbound with illustrations as well, which I completely forgot about until you reminded me.

About half way through, getting lectured on what I will get blamed and praised for when I become a Prince. In other books related news I have finished The Three Musketeers and have moved onto The Count of Monte Cristo.
