There were actually 4 I could have voted for. I went for the actual evidence and the superstition and ignorance answers, though.

I went with "born that way" (since, unlike a great many non-theists, I never seriously considered myself a theist of any stripe--lucky me) and "superstition and ignorance".

I went with the actual evidence one and superstition and ignorance. I don't hate the concept of a god. I look at him like I would look at any other imaginery friend. I'm not going to judge you if you have one, but if you're going to claim that this imaginery friend is real & once walked this Earth and you now want me to worship your imaginery friend, well then....I'm gonna have to require some evidence.

I went with "Extraordinary claims require actual evidence," and "Truth is paramount!"
I would have also chosen "Religions were born of superstition and ignorance," if I had 3 votes, but it's not as important as the two voted for. I also thought about choosing "Supernatural explanations for natural events suck," but I feel that's covered in the ones I chose.

Since I could only pick 2, I went with the actual evidence and superstition. I was also "born that way" because my dad resented his Catholic childhood so much, my brother and I were raised in an agnostic household. In fact, the only time we went to church were for family obligations, usually weddings and funerals.

I chose "extraordinary claims require evidence" and "religion was born out of ignorance and superstition". I could well say that I was born that way, as well. We're all atheists at birth, aren't we? No inherent system of belief. It all depends on what your parents tell you--and mine TRIED to turn me Christian when I was a kid, but I didn't believe any of it.
I don't remember who said this, but it pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter. "Without religion, you'd have good people doing good things and bad people doing bad things. But for good people to do bad things, that takes religion."

I selected "Extraordinary claims require actual evidence" and "Supernatural explanations for natural events suck". There's no substitute to being right and truth is paramount are also important factors. I was born an atheist (and stayed that way), and religions are indeed the product of superstition and ignorance, but those are mostly incidental. And I don't hate any god and none hates me, for obvious reasons...

And I don't hate any god and none hates me, for obvious reasons... Yeh, put those in because we're often told on the mainpage that apparently that's why we're atheists. They were really only there to underline a bit of a point about that, although it appears it's quite a good troll filter/magnet keeping them out of the sample...

Ya, many people say we Atheists have this underlining belief in god, that we hate god, so we call ourselves Atheists but really we believe in god enough to hate him. Blah blah blah. What they don't understand is that we Atheists DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD. Period. In order to hate a deity, you have to believe he exists. And we don't believe he exists. Period. What they also don't get is that many, if not all, Atheists have done their homework. We've engaged in discussions, we've read the biblical passages, we've weighed the evidence. In this day and age, with the large number of Fundie nuts just salivating at the thought of breaking a non-believer down, we HAVE to be ready. We have to do our homework.

That's all well and good but didn't work in the inquisition. What we gotta do is when we name names make sure the names are of the highest people in their church or town or whatever. That stopped the inquisition.

I went with "God hates me, so I ignore him".
Because why should I bother with persons, real or imagined, who hate me and want me to die?

Well I chose extraordinary evidence needs evidence, and supernatural explanations for natural events suck, but they don't really sum up my reason. I came to two pretty similar conclusions at different points in my life. The first was when, at age five, I was told for the first time that people actually believed in God and my (paraphrased) reaction was, "What? But that's stupid, he's a character in a story!". Another came 9 years later when something whent kaplunk in my brain (which later triggered that phsycological episode I dredge up whenever I want attention/an excuse for being so wierd) which made me realise that I didn't genuinely believe at all, and that most of the people who claimed to believe seemed to be in the exact same situation as me.
So my main reason for not believing in God is that its just unbelievable, and I think that very few, if any people actually have the capacity to believe in it.

I chose "Supernatural explanations for natural events suck" and "Religions were born of superstition and ignorance." Because that's exactly how I feel. I don't want to hear about how someone pissed off god so he messed with the seasons or we die because someone ate an apple. I also realize how many ignorant superstitious things are a part of many religions and have been there since the religions were started.

"Extraordinary claims require actual evidence."
and
"Religions were born of superstition and ignorance."
From the look of things, most people have the same reasons (though I also really, truly hate God ^_^)
