So I wouldn't normally do this but I've exhausted all my friends and I'm in serious need of help. I posted this on facebook but most people I know are Xtians and since my coming out as an agnostic and democrat, a lot of them don't talk to me. If this isn't in the right board then feel free to move it, but I took the suggestion of you can talk about anything here... to mean anything.
I need some data for a psychology paper due Tuesday. Your answers will be presented anonymously and just be used for the purpose of an informal paper.
You need to be college-aged (18-22) and have had at least one job.
The questions are:
1. “Imagine that you are an undergraduate student employed as a research assistant to Dr. Johnson, a professor of psychology. You will be working with him all summer, entering and data and doing library research. What hourly salary do you believe would be appropriate for this summer job?”
2. What is your age in years?
3. How many jobs have you had?
If you could send me the answers in a message that would be awesome, because otherwise the salary you suggest could others answers.
A virtual cookie to anyone who is cool enough to do this!

I'm not a female, but I'll send you my responses in a high-pitched voice and a wig if you'd like.

Haha. I'm not desperate enough to falsify data...yet.

Haha. I'm not desperate enough to falsify data...yet. [nitpick]I think you mean forge, falsifying data means proving it wrong[/nitpick]

haha win. But to update I got a perfect score on the paper. The assignment was for my psychology of women class and we were looking at the salary discrepancy between women and men. Research shows that women tend to ask for lower salaries than men (or vice-versa) so my teacher each had us get salaries from 6 men and 6 women. My results didn't really show any big differences, and the small difference was actually contrary to the trend:
Average salary suggested by women: $11.67 Average salary suggested by men: $11.31
Speaking with my teacher though, she did say that a lot of people found the aforementioned trend. I just prefer to think that maybe I know more enlightened, egalitarian people.

It'd take a lot of demographic and psychological data to sort it all out. You might also just know pushier women (or less money-driven men).

True, but I was kinda being facetious. Could be the guys I know have less of a sense of entitlement or maybe I do know more confident "pushy" women. Or it could be that my incredibly small sample size kept me from finding an effect. My professor (who also mentors me for a supervised research class) was thinking of compiling a database from everyone's answers but is hesitant because people do make up data to avoid asking people to take a survey or because they do the assignment at the last minute.

Coincidentally, I was being facetious as well. Even silly interpretations of data have counter-interpretations that are silly!
