I actually have a rules question, if you happen to have the time.
I was thinking about posting here about a project that I'm a part of...but its in something of a legal grey area.
Without specifics, its basically a piece of server emulation software for a MMO. Now, the company in question has supported this software in the past, but that was with a previous team who abandoned the project many years ago. That said, would creating a thread about said project be ill-advised due to its grey status?

Very much ill-advised. Lawyers are notorious pricks.

Rules question:
"Don't be a dick" is rather vague -- can I get some clarification on that? And will somebody please let me know if I'm getting close to the line?

Generally, "Don't Be A Dick" encompasses things that are a bit of a grey area between flame-baiting, trolling, and blatant namecalling. Sort of a "do unto others" sorta deal.
Also, generally, a mod will give you a warning if you're toeing the line.

Are these rules board wide, or are they suspended in F&B?

Are these rules board wide, or are they suspended in F&B? Number one means don't flame people for not knowing the posting habits of another person. Or flame them for ignorance. This has not happened, inside or outside F&B. The second means don't goad someone into breaking the rules. Flaming in F&B is perfectly fine, so flame-bait within F&B is fine by extension.

• Do not post pornography, even in the NSFW section or with the NSFW label. >.> I honestly forgot that this was a rule. Also, since we do have a NSFW section, and the implication of that is "lol pronz," we kinda need to clarify where the line is. Does this mean no links either? What about stating the name of a favorite porn site/comic/artist/whatever? What if you're linking to a clean page of a site that contains a porn section, or a webcomic like Oglaf that occasionally has a pornographic strip--do we need to label those as NSFW? Where is the line? I came perilously close (if I didn't out-and-out break the rules) with that post in the Strange Fetishes thread about a week ago, and I really don't want to get on anyone's bad side.

"Do not necro a thread that is more than thirty days old..."
WHAT? This is blatant discrimination against necromancers! Outrageous, sir!

I think its okay so long as you bring something new and relevant to the thread. Just general commentary and stuff don't count, if I'm readin past mod decisions properly.
So, it only discriminates against crappy necromancers.

Necromancers are all about hoardes of shitty undead. When a magicy-type tries to make a monster that's actually decent, it inevitably turns on them.
