I used to mock racists and fundies on YouTardTube when I was bored. The most horrible comments were placed in my channel description in my "Hall of Shame." Then someone posted a comment on my channel and told me to submit some of the quotes to FSTDT.com, and so I gave it a try--since I didn't have to sign up or anything in order to do so. Then when I saw people mocking the submitted quotes it actually made me feel like I wasn't the only sane person on the net ^_^

I don't remember what I Googled, but FSTDT was one of the first results. I used to read the main page regularly, and show the quotes to my friends and we would all laugh.
I joined the forums to get my 26 posts. It took me about a year to do so, and by the time I was finished I didn't really care about PubAd anymore.

Somebody here recommended me to FSTDT about 15 months ago. Since I never bothered to ask for a handle, I don't know which one of you is her.

Someone in IRC pasted a link to one of the scariest things I've ever read and so I discovered the world of fundie-quotes (got shocked over the amount of stupid people, eventually lost my faith in humanity and crawled to the forums).

Even though it wasn't that long ago (just before the old page went down) I don't really remember. I was probably googling something, or snooping around some forum and stumbled on it that way.

I was reading the Rapture Ready boards. I had never commented on anything, I was too stunned by the stupidity to say anything. In one thread, someone called FSTDT a hate site. I asked why they called it a hate site. My IP was banned. No joke.

Back in (I think) 06, somebody on the GamePolitics forum, of which I was a member, posted in a thread about stupid people and linked to the mainpage. I hung out on the mainpage for a while, and after a few weeks decided to visit the forums.

Someone posted the URL on 4chan, and the rest is history.

Someone posted a link to the site in the Facebook "Atheist" group I was browsing, full of "Stupid Christian quotes".

Lurking on the Gay and Lesbian Issues Forum of www.military.com. One of the fundies on their was in a debate with a gay concerning the rights of homosexuals to serve. The fundie said something extremely stupid, and the gay submitted the quote to FSTDT. The quote was excepted, and then the gay dude went posted a link to where the quote had been main paged. Lols ensued. It should be noted that the fundie was retired military, while the gay is STILL in active service (Navy). This was also on the old site before Distind was granted control.

I'm excited to learn that I'm not the only one who was initially scared to post on these forums.

I had just discovered that creationists and ID-proponents actually existed. Stunned by their ignorance, I was googling for creationist arguments. FSTDT was one of the hits. I spent three days reading and laughing. I stayed on the main page for a while, then discovered the forum. Like others, I was initially shy, and spent some time lurking. I'm still shy, due to my lousy English, but I have reached godhood, and consider myself a regular.

I can't quite remember how I found the old FSTDT. I remember it was either mid-to-late 2007 or early 2008. I think Encyclopaedia Dramatica might have been involved, specifically the page on RH Junior (I found out about him because of his spat with a webcomic artist whose work I enjoy). From there, I got to the main page and the Top 100. I posted comments on a few quotes. When I saw there was a forum, I thought about joining, but was too awkward to do so. And then came the switch to the current site and forum. I almost joined when it was opened in March, but ended up waiting until late September to do so, once again due to my shyness.
(Edited to include the words "out" and "due".)
