Sounds like everyone doodled in their notebooks during school. Glad to know I wasn't the only one! XD
Anyway, I've been looking for some more fine point markers, and I found Copic Multiliners. They seem like they would be really good, but I have yet to buy 'em. I think I'll get some on Wednesday when I visit art media. I do have a faber castell extra fine point marker, but I don't have any marker paper, so I'll have to pick up a marker sketch book if I want some good use out of 'em. I'm also thinking of trying the Sakura Micron brand. I did have a .5 MM pen from them, but I think it's almost out of ink. It is 8 years old, so that sounds about right.

Also on the subject of markers, I've heard good things about the Copic Ciao markers, so I'm also going to pick some up tomorrow, along with the blender pen. The blender pen doesn't really blend, but it does lighten, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. :3

I haven't had good luck with the Copic blender. I've had better luck with layering. And I like Copic Sketch. The brush tips work great.

One of the nice things about Copics is that they're refillable. They cost more up front, but if you use the refills, they're cheaper over the long run.

When I draw, which is rare, it's usually bored in class. So, margins of my books and whatever pen I'm using at the moment. I can barely draw anything (dead trees and one decent sketch of a boat against a sunset) so I don't count that much.
For writing, it's MS Word or Openoffice and a whole lot of saved files. I can't physically write anything, because I hate handwriting anything, my handwriting sucks, and I'm a compulsive editor. The difference between a first draft and the finished piece can be ridiculous, and editing's best accomplished using a computer. Also, great for digging up the files where I keep my backstory and notes.

Pencils: I'm not too picky about these since I mostly use them simply to get designs down for inking. I mostly use HB mechanical pencils, though.
Pens: Microns from .005 to .08 and Bic Z4+ size .07 for filling in completely black areas (two layers makes it opaque, whereas Sharpies take 3-4 layers).
Digital: Well...I've been playing around with Garry's Mod a little (it's a program to lets you take props and models from games with the Source engine and use them however you like.) I also use Photoshop Elements for stitching together pages that were too large to scan in all at once and for doing little touch-ups.
Most of my time goes toward working on my horror/comedy webcomic, but I do work on other stuff like just plain drawings, a little acrylic painting, and the odd sculpture. Sculpey is great for making small sculptures at home; it never dries out, so you can work it and take as many breaks as you want until you're ready to bake it (which you can do in a conventional oven).

I believe I have found a medium that I love: Gel pens.
I, being the typical high school student, used gel pens, but only for writing stories with my friends. We didn't use them for anything else, really, since we revered them as fragile writing tools that ran out of ink even if you looked at them funny. Now that I have a bit of money, I bought myself a nice gel pen made by Pilot (it's the P-500, which has a nice small tip of 0.5 MM), and ever since I started drawing with it, I've been unable to stop! The ink flows super smoothly, it dries super fast, and it is easy to sketch with. I'm thinking about trying the fine point sakura gel pens to see if those are good, too.

As I can't draw for shit, and all my attempts have been failures I prefer to stick with writing.
My choice of pen is BiC Grip Roller Fine in black.
And for pencil it's BiC 0.7mm mechanical pencil.
