I just want to add, as a science major working on his bachelors and who plans on graduate school, this really is disgusting. Do these fuckers have any idea how much work it takes to be a scientist? It's not just a memorization of facts, you need to learn how to think, how to put together experiments, how to interpret results (often confusing results), and most of all how to be honest. Creationism has none of these principles, it's all about winning people over to their god, no matter what the cost.

I wonder if the "anyone can be a scientist" attitude on the part of the creationists is why they think science should be subject to the popular vote.

It's not just a memorization of facts It certainly does seem that way in the beginning though doesn't it? My first and second year biology classes were absolutely soul crushing at times. I'm a critical thinker and I despised the fragile intelligence they were demanding of me: rote memorisation. That said, I had plenty of opportunities to stretch my self once I'd paid those dues. Perhaps, it certainly explains the whole 'public debate versus publishing' mentality they seem to have.

That's why I like lab so much. I have to actually interpret data and form a coherent explanation rather than just say 'Na+/K+ ATPase is a p-type pump.'

Why didn't they just use the term "evolutionary biologists". Would seem to be the accurate term.
