Note : The thread was titled "An article on the World's Finest Education System" because I couldn't fit anything else in. Opinions contrary to the statement are welcome. Not to include politics here, but would you consider this a "liberal approach," or a "conservative approach ? " I've been caught up on the education controversy in the United States. An answerer to this question apparently thinks that the "liberal education system" is no good. answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgFmche2JE6k8ufqG116jmbsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090319131114AAu2miO

As a reminder from the rules: * Due to copyright law, you should not post entire news stories. Very nice story, but in the future please remember to not post the entire article (choice segments are best, to help show what it's about and other important parts) and to state and link to where the article is from.

Finnish is difficult to learn, I know a few phrases and I've been to Finland quite a few times, both on business and pleasure. Great overnight ferry between Stockholm and Helsinki.
Somehow, I don't mesh with the Finnish soul. It's very dark, thinking about it brings back childhood memories about Tuesday night TV Theater with Finnish plays in black and white, consisting of a dialogue with a word every few minutes and some hefty vodka drinking and a lot of knife fights.
But Helsinki si one hell of a city to party in, bring together some Finns out for a night on the town, some Russians on shopping trips and a lot of vodka and we can call it a one hell of a party! Watch out for those foot long knifes!
