I'm sitting here on my lunch break going over how I'm going to quantify this year's fundies awards and looking over this I don't think he's had anyone come near his level of funditude this year.
Kent Hovind's dissertation isn't really new, so much as funny as hell.
I don't remember any other standouts from the year(but I also haven't run my fundie finder yet), does anyone think he has any competition?
And if he does win, does anyone want to see the blooper reel of the quotes of his that didn't make it?
I do still plan on putting them up to a vote, and I'm just getting a head start on designing my top quote and top fundie detector which I'll be running some time in the next two weeks to determine who is in the voting. Just wondering if anyone thinks he won't win.

Yeah, I think he wins it hands down, especially with his Conservpedia Bible Project, proof that he worships his political beliefs, not Christianity.
Maybe give ol' Schlafly a "Fundie Lifetime Achievement" award, and retire him from the running permenantly, and give someone else the "Fundie of the Year" award.
Let's face it, he's hard to defeat in the Arena of Crazy.

His little project got media attention, he's won it, I can't think of anybody else who can compete.

I don't know if I've ever actually said this or not, but generally once someone wins the individual award I have no intention of running them again. Bro Randy is out of the running, along with Carico I believe. That said, I may actually put which of his quotes is used as the example for the award up to a vote, he's got so damn many.

Yeah this was his year to shine--he even demonstrated his horrifying, robotic laugh on the Colbert Report.
I do have one question: What are the other award categories?

Without a doubt he wins!

Actually, maybe he'll make it onto The Beast's "50 Most Loathsome People in America" list for 2009...

His biggest opponent I would think is Ray Comfort with his alterations of 'On the Origin of Species.' However, he was fairly quiet mostly, and his project doesn't compare to the batshit craziness of removing 'liberal bias' from the bible.

I think he's certainly earned this award. Yes. Please! It would take a miracle of Biblical proportions to knock him out of top spot. And I second the Lifetime Achievement award for Ass-fly.

I do have one question: What are the other award categories? We have three total: Quote of the year Individal (aka lifetime achievement) of the year Board of the year Quote of the year is most likely going to come out of the top 100, but I'm going to be taking some measures to ensure something was actually quite popular from the start rather than hit the top100 and stayed there.

I think this year it should be a Muslim. They are underrepresented in many ways. Also, if you guys pick only WASP's they might conclude we want to pick on them, and only on them.

I don't know about a lifetime achievement award for a Muslim, but quote of the year could go to the Islamic fanatic who who didn't believe in evolution, a round Earth or the water cycle.

I think we have one in the top 100 with an award actually. Award winners are going to get bumped up the list, so odds are we'll have at least one in the voting.

He got the attention of Colbert.
And we all know Colbert is God.
