Although he was infuriatingly vapid and extraordinarily partisan as per the norm, you had to love his speech. I say that as a liberal, atheist, gay rights supporting, quasi-socialist...and no I am not insane.
When you take the whole hour and fifteen minutes he spoke and sum it up he said absolutely nothing new. In fact he advocated several times that the republicans do nothing new. It was a very tired re-hashing of Reagan republicanism with a few tiny flairs added by the Bush dynasty.
While he stood there in all his bloated, ignorant, self-centered glory and called upon conservatives to remain with the self-destructive policies that have led them to where they are now. While he told them not to even attempt to cater to the mid-stream voters or to the main stream press because "they are our enemies". While he advocated the tired and dis-proven Reagan economic model as perfection...I was giving him thumbs up and grinning my ass off.
Rush is doing our job for us by leading these asshats into complete isolation on the right wing lunatic fringe. Who is going to vote for that in this economy?
I for one salute him for making our job so much easier and making plain the choice voters have to decide. Unrealistic bible thumping asshats who want America to fail to further their persecution fixation, or realists who believe they can fix things with public support and that it is not too late.
Rush that speech was great, you couldn't have done better if you were my hand puppet I was useing to POE them all to react how I want. Thank you.

I agree. I hope they nominate Rush as the next Republican presidential candidate, with Palin as his "running mate". It would be TRULY lulzworthy.
Well, done, Rush.

I watched the last few moments of it. However, due to my history of high blood pressure I turned away after a few minutes.
Just following the Doctor's orders, "Don't take any more than 5 grams of conservative bullshit every week."

Keep digging that hole Rush....and I hope you like the view as the minority party in Congress, because you are gonna be there a looooonnnggg time.
If this is the best Rush can do, if he is the future of the party, then the Democrats can look forward to being the majority for a long time to come, since the Repubs can't seem to bring new ideas to the floor.

But they shout Rush is the way the party needs to go. this is great, with asshats like that going up the Reps will never win another presidency. The guy's a loon and anyone with half a brain knows it. It's a wonder he doesn't choke on his own bullshit half the time

Armand: I'm with you. I brought up the videos and watched just enough to see his angry, bloated, wind-filled as bluster through some chest thumping and "fist bumping" with some equally awkward looking lackeys before I closed out all of those windows.
Not even to mock him could I justify torturing myself with that.
BTW, didja hear that romney is the front runner in 2012? Maybe what Bill Maher brought up will happen and this mormon will have to publically explain some of his religion's history. I recall a black dude in Religulous bringing up the fact that mormons had kept blacks out of the church up till a generation or so ago but it wasn't officially addressed there. Of course, there is so much nuttiness in religion that there wasn't time to get to it all, and there is definately enough material for a few dozen "sequels" to that flick. "The Golden Compass" would have been a good title for the mormon one, too bad that was taken already.

I believe it was 78 or 79. I remember because I have a Mormon sister who was convinced that it was a sign of the end times. Of course she was also convinced that there would only be 12 prophets, and that her adopted native daughter would turn white when she was baptized.
**sigh**

And don't think I wouldn't, I moved to get away from Kennet and Howard.
