Perhaps, but you also have to consider my usual choice of language. If I really considered him a right ass, I'd be more likely to call him a prick. "Dickhead" is more along the lines of a moderate irritant.

Two pages in & you've decided that he's a dickhead. Makes sense to me! And? A quick judgment isn't necessarily an inaccurate judgment.

His posting behavior aside, could we stop the name calling outside of F&B?

I'm a mod. I'm not always allowed to be fun. It's a downside to the job.

Yeah, I don't envy that part of the job, that's for damn sure.

Especially when you consider that the judgement itself may be influencing his behavior. I know that if I walked into a place & everyone started calling me a dick, my first reaction would probably be "fuck off."

Yeah, except he walked in and started spouting bullshit, offensive and totally wrong bullshit at that. He also seems to think that we'll all be like a bunch of frat buddies, nodding, poking eachother with our elbows, and generally agreeing with what he says simply by virtue of him being "one of us."
I know that if I walked into a building and started making an ass of myself, "piss off" would likely be the expected response of those who were in the building before I waltzed in.

The only difference between this topic & any other topic you'd find in this section is that the information is allegedly incorrect. It's just as bad of a treatment as a lot of other religions get around here, IE Mormonism.

Except, at least in my experience, the "mistreatment" Mormonism, and by extension others (Witnesses included), is based on accurate information. The LDS is openly opposed to gays, and we bash them for that. The Witnesses do not teach their members to refrain from reading their own book, so bashing them on the basis that they do is ... misinformed.

And being misinformed is "being a dickhead" since when...?

you have nothing to worry about with me. Mainstream Christians are people with whom I can agree to disagree. In fact one of my best online friends is a Christian. The Mormons and JW's are cults that need to be put in their place.Right there, Lithp. Those last four words. "Put in their place?" He comes off as a pompous ass. People have a right to believe what they want, saying that one religion is more or less valid than any other is like saying one brand of AA battery is superior to another. Sure, there are some differences, but they serve the same purpose. I may not believe what they do, but I will fight to the death for their right to believe it.

Because no one's ever said anything similar about Fundie Christians on this board. Nope, never.

Let it be known: I speak for myself, and only for myself.
If I had read someone posting something similar about any religion, I would call them a right ass if I felt so inclined. In this case, I did, and have.
