I never had any faith in humanity. Some people do seemingly kind things, but there is always some ulterior motive.
In fact, I trust ulterior motives more than I trust anything else. Let's face it, you are either after some sort of reward or you are dangerously stuck up and self righteous...

Humanity as a whole, never managed to get it back. Certain individual humans, never lost it. If I need to take a break from misanthropy, I reflect on science and art. Usually helps.

Let's face it, you are either after some sort of reward or you are dangerously stuck up and self righteous... Without going into the philosophical arguments of whether or not this is true, what if you do something because the reward you desire is the good feeling that comes from helping another person?
